Question: Why doesn't my avatar work on PoFo?

Answer: The politics forum has an automatic script designed to prevent the use of many avatars the break the forum rules. To be accepted and not receive and error message when adding an avatar you must make sure that the image you are submitting is not larger than 100 × 100 pixels and that it is a grey-scale (black and white) image. It must be in either JPEG (.jpg) or GIF (.gif) format.

One of the most common causes of confusion is black and white avatars being rejected for not being black and white. This is frequently because the image has been saved in RGB (red, green, blue) format, when it must be grey-scale. The format can be changed in graphics editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or Gimp.

If you do not have graphics software to convert your desired image into a format that is acceptable, or are just generally having trouble doing so then please post in The Signature & Avatar Forum and ask for help. Many members of the forum are very good at manipulating graphics and should be able to assist you.
