To summarise: In Iran, people's votes can get cast by their spouses (failed state ...), 'seniors' doesn't mean "people over a certain age", but "people who are made leaders" in some fashion, you'd rather have an authoritarian state constantly checking on who is sleeping with whom than people registering their marriage once, and the marriage laws are unequal. And the marital rights laws are so useless that most people have to write up special contracts to protect themselves in marriages.
Sounds awful. Certainly no model for anywhere else. And they don't have gay marriage, either.
