This is why I have arrived at the conclusion that non-heterosexuals are bad people, along with leftists. They simply cannot be trusted. With non-heterosexuals, it should be a lot easier to address the problem. For example, we could create a non-heterosexual colony on Molokai and ship them all there. They would be much happier there, I think. As for liberals, there are just too many of them. I'll have to think more on this.

Well it worked for Hungarians. :excited:

I know that your language lacks genders, my comment was a pun on how prolific Hungarians are in the sex industry. You made me explain my joke. :(

Maybe if they're practicing at being PUA, but some of them have sworn off women altogether and are quite happy to be left alone with their porn. I'm only going by what I've seen some of them say online, and I take interest in it from a psychology standpoint - I don't know any MGTOW or PUA in real life.

anna wrote:I do that too, even though I know while I'm doing it that it's grammatically incorrect, but it's less cumbersome than "he or she" will drive "his or her."

Which reminds me, oddly, of the way we order our adjectives without even being aware we're doing it.

It's just interesting to me, a little bit, how we already use it in a grammatically incorrect way, but people could insist on those things deliberately. And don't get me wrong, if someone is transgender I of course don't have a problem calling them she or he, but I am of the opinion that no one really knows what the hell a "ze" or "xir" is.

I do not, however, pretend that I am a Champion Of Free Speech! when I do it.

There is Bill C-16, and as far as I can tell, the only changes to makes is adding trans people to the list of people who are seen as being targeted by discrimination.

While I agree that hate speech should not be illegal, I find it odd that the author of the article in the OP is focused on Bill C-16 rather than the legislation that actually restricts hate speech.

I too think some people use it ungrammatically out of habit, not knowing that in being grammatically incorrect that they're being politically correct. :D

As I said, a 'Ghost in the Shell' response. Having to rely on electronic devices for basic social interaction.

Although I will say that I'm not in agreement with codifying it as law, just as a code of conduct or possibly in the university's bylaws.

Except that the constant need to bring out an electronic device for basic social interaction could also be perceived as bigotry and indirect misgendering.
