Hello there, if you're reading this blog entry. I'll just start off by writing about my current project.
I am writing a 20 page paper on the NSA warrantless surveillance program. Many Americans were outraged about the program. How was it able to exist for so long? How did it escape notice for so long? It started at the end of 2001 when it was launched. It was ratified at the beginning of 2002. All I could find out about the beginning was that there were NSA rules to hide the program from the surveillance court. I didn't find any specifics.
I agree that it was a direct violation of the FISA. But it is a violation of the Fourth Amendment? That's a tough question and that will be part of my conclusion. But how to decide? I'm looking at Supreme court opinions. The earliest one is from 1967. The most recent is from 2001. I should check to see if there's a more recent one than that.
