Anyways, I believe the spread of Hejab is Egypt has to do with many things, education not included.

First, the large scale migration from rural areas to cities due to wide-spread free education in rural areas. They brought the village mentality with them.

Second, the large number of Egyptians moving to Gulf states for work, as Gulf states grew rapidly rich off oil production. The Egyptian workers in the Gulf returned back with different customs and mentality.
