Which weapon is used, is of paramount importance. A semi-automatic rifle with a large magazine is far more dangerous than a bolt action weapon, or even a pistol. All the major school shootings involving multiple deaths have been because of the weapon used.

Las Vegas, where 59 people were killed, and hundreds more injured, wouldn't have happened had semi-automatic rifles been restricted from public use.

Hong Wu wrote:Your linked study talks about gun control and firearm related deaths: "As the US continues to stall on gun control talks, the largest study ever conducted on the topic has found a clear link between firearm regulation and fewer gun-related deaths around the world."

This is not what other people are talking about. They are focused on crime, murder and suicide levels which do not appear to be impacted by gun control. Gun control only seems to effect which weapon is used.

Other people should create links and movements to address crime, murder and suicide. People here are writing about "children marching for gun control" because the young people cannot vote and are facing death because of a lack of action from law makers, although I suspect your intention was to open a venue to spew contempt at these articulate young activists.

No to both.

Not an embarrassment when the youth are standing up for morality, truth and for the general safety in their community. It shows maturity and deep thought. They are actually unglued from their smart phones!

It is only a success if gun control is actually better enforced as a result of the protests. It is too soon to tell if they have succeeded. I will believe it when I see it.

I truly hope that change comes. Innocent people should not die because a maniac was allowed to buy a gun.

But then again, in some states they could sell guns at private yard sales. It is hard to regulate all the yard sales in each state.

Climb back under your bridge. @Suntzu. You're talking out of your ass, and creating a false narrative to protect your precious gun rights. You just hate that your beloved guns are under attack. :knife:

Go die already(old age should claim you soon and put you out of their misery)

Lol.....

Gun sales increase when Democrats are in power. Many stores had prepared for an increase in gun sales expecting a Hillary Clinton election win

This could be an opportunity for states to (attend yard sales, car boot sales etc and) buy back guns and destroy them. They can call or drive over to the homes in advance of the sale. If the idea catches on, people will find their way to the buyer. Detroit had a buy back movement some years ago
