I never suggested it is. You essentially insinuated though that not being interested in UFC is equivalent of not being interested in MMA, hence my response.

It'll only get rid of the idiot fans, so it's no real loss.

High and Mighty are we now.

Not supporting it is just simply misogyny. You also know fuck all about MMA if you say that women's MMA isn't good. They are skilled, and tough

People get hurt all the time, regardless of their gender. Do you respond the same way when a female gymnast is injured? I think not.
#14488918
Usually yes I do react more when womens gymanst is injured. As far as getting hurt, its one thing to fall or twist an ankle, its another a woman getting hit in the face and looking like Rocky. Like I linked before the female face is not designed to take punches, aside that seeing women in such shape is disgusting to alot of people. You might not care, becuase your blinded by your Feminist ideals, but most rational people hate it.

I am not upset because I know that these women compete freely and at their own risk. They know what can happen in the ring, and they train, and work to attain the skill necessary to NOT get injured, and to win. You can't get by the gender difference.... that's all.

Wanderlei is a little too much (mustache and all lol), and he's not saying anything new. Have we not seen this before? Veteran leaves the UFC and then talks mad shit about the business...

The Fertitta's are basically doing the same thing that they did with their casino chain. Taking advantage of company debt to line their own pockets while fucking over the employees, be it culinary workers or fighters. Wanderlei should stop making silly videos and start helping in the effort for a fighter's union. That's been the most logical option for years. I remember when Randy and Chuck tried doing one that failed due to Liddell getting bought out by the UFC and Randy basically getting left out in the dirt. People now seem to think that this is impossible because those two guys tripped up in their own effort.

And, it isn't right.

Wanderlei is having the ability to earn a living taken away from him.

It isn't right.

If anyone is actually concerned about Wanderlei Silva, give Zuffa a call and let them know.

Wanderlei Silva is one of the best MMA fighters of all time.

He is being mistreated by a promoter, and he is being not allowed to make a living.

A phone number to contact Zuffa LLC in Las Vegas Nevada?

Zuffa, LLC 2960 West Sahara Avenue Suite 100 Las Vegas NV 89102 (702) 221-4780

Of course it isn't right. But making silly videos isn't going to change anything. And a boycott by a hundred fans isn't going to do shit either. The fighters need to organize. Plain and simple.

...also who knows about Wanderlei's accusations and whether they're true or not. If he didn't go because threat of lawsuit, then his lawyer probably told him it was legitimate because of his contract. I'm sure he's working with his lawyer to get out of whatever contract he's in with the UFC right now, and then he'll be free to do whatever. Until then, it wouldn't make sense to risk loosing everything in a lawsuit to make a little paycheck for an appearance at another promotion to symbolically say fuck the UFC. He can make money in other ways easily.

I think the NSAC is the most at blame for taking away his ability to earn a living. A life time ban was absolutely fucking ridiculous.

Yeah I pretty much agree.

I think that a fighters' union would be a good move.

But the US is so anti- labor unions these days. Therefore it seems like a long ways off.

MMA business in the US sort of mirrors boxing a little bit, but is even more corrupt and exploitative.

I agree a union would be good. But I don't see it coming.
#14492321
I made the mistake earlier of calling fighters employees. They're not. They're independent contractors. Thus they can't legally form a union. But they can form an association which would offer them some benefits, bargaining power, and protections.

I consider them very meaningful videos.

Meaningful videos can still be silly as well. Have you seen all the reactions to these videos on MMA underground or Sherdog? Practically everyone agrees that the message is meaningful and important, but the delivery is still laughable. I mean just having Wanderlei rant at a camera is funny in and of itself, no matter what topic. Especially with that big old moustache lol.

I've never been a poster on 'the underground' or Sherdog.

But I find the videos meaningful, and indeed pretty moving.

That's just me, perhaps.

I love Wanderlei Silva though.

OneFC just put on an amazing show yesterday, at One FC 23 Warrior's Way.

Watch it if you can. I believe it's available On Demand, check their website

No one can call those fights amateurish.

I'm also very much looking forward to the Hendricks-Lawler rematch.

I hope Lawler gets it done this time.

I thought he had Hendricks on the hook last time, but he seemed to gas.

Lawler's a definite underdog, but he has an okay shot I think.

This actually looks like a really good UFC card top to bottom. Credit where credit's due.

I want to see Lawler knock the stuffing out of Hendricks. I don't buy "excuses".
