In a January 2 dream, I am trudging through snow in an arctic landscape when I reach a white door on the side of a hill. I knock on the door, and it opens. I enter a small room, perhaps a boot room. I see another door and knock on it. A man lets me in. I find myself seated in a nicely appointed office, maybe the office of an ambassador or consular official. The man behind the desk is a Russian who gives me cordial greetings.

We have barely begun to converse when Colin Powell, in a civilian suit, enters the room and sits down on a chair to my left. I think I should leave as there will be high-level confidential discussions. I am escorted out of the room.

I interpret the cold landscape as being the Ninth Circle of Hell as depicted in Dante’s Inferno. The Russian is Satan. Powell is there as a warning to me. He was damned for promoting lies that led to our second war in Iraq. I will be damned and sent to hell if I pursue my Iraq War book project, which may cause harm and chaos in the world.

On the other hand, a dream dictionary says, “To see snow in your dream signifies your inhibitions, unexpressed emotions and feelings of frigidity. You need to release and express these emotions and inhibitions.”

My second trip to hell

In a dream on January 31, I am in a room with aliens in human bodies. One breaks out of his skin: a larger than human mix of frog and dinosaur. I am then outside in a paved lot with other alien/human mixes. Two small “humans” with small skulls and poorly formed faces are mocking a handsome, young shirtless man.

A man from outside peeks over the wall, looking for women. I do see a blonde woman with a doll-like face. She is topless, but flat-chested with six nipples. Another woman has round, red blotches on her left arm.

I decided this was another visit to hell. These were not aliens; these were people in hell who were revealing their inner monsters and moral deformities. I may have been the young shirtless man who was “out of place.”
