I know that was meant both semi-humourously and semi-seriously at the same time.

Yes of course the Internationalle has inspired millions of lefties the world over. But I am really talking about music that was never written as a specifically political rallying cry, but something for the musical mainstream with the ability to nevertheless touch millions who are not overtly political and make them think. Music which speaks to the souls and consciences of everyday people, in language they can readily understand and identify with, and don't require any pre-existing ideology to embrace. All they need is a soul and a heart, and a pair of ears.
