Igor Antunov wrote:Good stuff guys. Might as well take the plunge myself.

--Shanghai Rising--

When the sun sets, city lights dispel the darkness.

Denizens rise; others fall, battling tired shadows in the twilight starkness.

A new morning beckons to these people who dream of an endless tomorrow;

growing artificial splendour drowning out their sorrow.

Whether eyes are closed or open, there is no reason to miss the light.

Day by day, dawn by dawn; for the city that never sleeps-there is no night.

Potemkin wrote:Rhyming Poem

*ahem*
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Some poems rhyme,
But this one doesn't.

:excited:

Potemkin...

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Your poem was pathetic...
Made me puke too.

Igor...

Poetry is an art.
And like a lot of art...
Some pieces are either priceless or tasteless.
Down right tacky on the other hand... well... that's in a class all by itself.

Is that series supposed to be some kind of primitive dadaism or something alike?

I think there is something of a cultural divide here. Beren seems to be genuinely offended by my levity towards poetry-writing. This is probably because of his Eastern European heritage. In that part of the world, poetry tends to be held in very high esteem, and poets are implicitly regarded as the "unacknowledged legislators of the world", to use Shelley's memorable phrase. In Britain and in most other Western nations, however, poetry-writing is regarded as a fucking joke, the kind of thing faggots do when they're not stuffing gerbils up their asses.... In fact, come to think of it.... :eh:

Our community becomes more depraved by the day.

Fortunately none among us have contributed to it.

I merely reveal the inner depravity which is already inherent in everything you hold dear. This is why the depravity will not disappear with me, for it was always there. And now you know it, and that knowledge can never be un-known.

"The Book That I Took"... j.a.b.

I was having a look at a book that I took...
from a kid we called Sid who was clueless I did.
This book that I took may have made me a crook.
Since I've yet to be caught...
I'll remain off the hook.

Surprisingly indeed it was a mighty good read.
A mans love for murder, and his sick killing spree.
Was a thrill to pick up.
Real hard to put down.
I just couldn't wait who was next to be found.

With every turned page I felt the murderers rage.
His victims lay dazed while confined to a cage...
By some real holy man.
Choking sinners with his hands.
Made them turn a shade of blue.
Enjoyed molesting them too.

This cold blooded jerk is a real piece of work.
The town was in terror...
No one knew where he lurked.
With a Bible at hand and a robe like a monk...
He drives around town with body parts in his trunk.
he worships a god, but seems to think he's one too...
It's in his own mind what he thinks he should do.

This book that I took made me take a close look.
Captured my curiosity...
Who'd be found by the brook?
Long it's sure been since I've kept Sid's book hidden.
I bet he was pissed when it did come up missin'.
