Frankly, from what I see, it is usually harder for righteous people to unite, unless the threat (as many US citizens see in Trump and his allies) is too much to bear.
Yes and no. There are various factions within the DNC. Gabbard and Wang are OK. These people are recognised by most as being uncharacteristicly sane for a Democrat.
Then there is the establishment neo liberal faction, who are all about big business and the security state. EG; Pelosi and Schiff. This is the group that is widely unpopular. It includes the main stream media. Their credibility has been plummeting for a decade or two.
Finally, there are the commies. Bernie, AOC fall into this group. They have a small but fanatical support base that will use intimidation upto and including violence to ensure the more moderate groups stay in line. This group is rising to ascendancy in the DNC.
The neo liberal group is becoming more dependant of the radical left support base as they lose mainstream popularity. But the radical left would like to overthrow them and reform society in a socialist Mold.
So if the DNC was dominated by the Gabbards and the Wangs, it might be a force of positive progress. Alas, it is a chaotic ruin of the old guard neo liberals, gradually being taken over by commies. So there isn’t much good that can be said of it.
Unless you are a Trump. It is going to be very hard for him to lose given just how bad his opposition is.
