You certainly do bring up a good point my friend. Pence would probably be way worse.

He would indeed. Here is a premise for us to consider. Suppose you were a US Democratic Party senator. The vote is for or against Trump's impeachment. (Of course the charge matters but for the sale of a political discussion lets suppose it is something arguably forgivable.) Do you vote to impeach or not?

I am leaning not to impeach. For the very reason MMIJK says. I do not believe Pence' policies would necessarily be better.

Ah yes, it's so sweet seeing liberals/leftists/socialists/communists/etc, IE Barry boy and Crooked Hillary lovers, all hissed off and helpless to do anything about it.

It's a wonderful life, and I'm enjoying it to the fullest. If the Republicans in the midterms can pickup some seats in the Senate and get it up to 60, I'll enjoy it even more.

I see our racist has made another racist remark. Should be no surprise though.

There is a glimmer of hope. Young people are generally well educated to the point that this ideology of open and blatant racism will not play with them. They will vote in droves for democrats having seen the ignorance and stupidity of the people who seek to destroy the very foundation of our democracy.

The statues of southern civil war generals are coming down. These memorials to slavery and treason are going onto the slag heap of history as should be. Young people are the hope. They realize the destructiveness of the elitist and despotic policies of the republican party these days.

It the not to distant future a president Maria Lopez will drive the last nail in their coffin.

I don't like Hillary or Obama. Way too far right for me.

Pence's policies are appalling. You don't need him in the White House at all. I'd stall impeachment as long as possible. There's a number of investigation under way. No need to rush, Trump Can't get much done. Better to let him muck about, and continue the investigations. Then nail his highly unpopular bottom to the wall.

The quagmire is no longer coming. The Republicans are flopping all around in it. Their primary reason for repealing Obamacare is to give another tax reduction to rich folks and make'em richer. Their dilemma arises from the fact that health insurance costs lottsa $ and if you gut the $ out of the program, your replacement is about 99% guaranteed to be a worthless piece of shit (Trumpcare). There are actually a few Republicans with guts enough to point out that this tax reduction for the rich will result in increased death and suffering by the peons. And even the gutless portion of the Republican party can see that doing such will hand their opposition a giant weapon to wield just in time for the 2018 elections. It gets even more interesting when one considers that their self made Obamacare debacle must be done with before their next gift to the ruling class, "tax reform", is embarked upon.

Meanwhile ........... the clock is ticking. Remember trump's promise of an "immediate" repeal accompanied by less expensive insurance that offers better coverage? Could it be that trump in addition to being an asshole is also incompetent  .

The quagmire is indeed over. Trump care is going to pass and the republicans have successfully punted it until after the next presidential election. Bottom line. They ran over the impotent democrats again and the democrats are not even screaming about it. After all. The same rich folks who are the beneficiaries of all of these tax cuts are the same ones funding both parties.

I am thoroughly disgusted and neither my representative nor senators give one shit that I am.

Trumps behaviour is growing increasingly erratic, suggesting he's under a strain. That punch up with the CNN reporter was nuts. Maybe he's just very tired. I wonder if he's tired of winning yet?

Dr Lee

I think this is nearly the time for Dems to propose universal health care by extending medicaid to everyone for a reasonable price, and up the social security tax to pay for it. Private companies can still operate like they do here.

I completely agree with you. That would be wonderful. Businesses would be off the hook for something they should have nothing to do with in the first place and insurance companies could make a mint offering supplemental policies to those who could afford it. Mixing younger people into the pool of participants would potentially lower costs also.

I feel sick inside to realize that Trumpcare will be passed into law. Trump is getting away with so much bullshit.

I was talking with my German friend last night and he told me that he pays less than 200 USD for health insurance and he has a family. It's just amazing. I wish that there was some way that I too could pay less than 200 USD for health insurance. I usually pay over 200 with Anthem. It often seems to me like the US is the greediest country in the world, making people pay the most for health insurance and prescription lenses and medicine. It's like only the richer US citizens deserve health benefits or something...which is totally unjust.

The quagmire has arrived pretty much on schedule and has morphed into a farce which they have been entertaining us with these past few weeks. They seem to have reaped the worst of both worlds: their half assed "replacements" which would have screwed millions has failed plus, except for the most seriously deluded Trump Lemmings, their incompetence and mean spiritedness has been on display for months.

Just read the last 3 pages of this thread. It appears to be a simple bashing of Trump and how dumb Republicans are. No problem, I understand the need. The problem is you are too occupied with insulting adversaries to the point of aversion. I believe you are afraid to confront the flaws in your own ideology that was exposed by Trump's win. The Democrats are doomed until they do. All the propaganda and dirty tricks will not be enough on their own. I could not bring myself to vote for Trump, but after seeing the Democrats reaction, I wish I had. Democrats are making me a stronger Trump supporter every day.

I agree that there has been much anti trump hysteria ... some of it actually over the top. But, after all, the man spouts a daily stream of lies and insults and it is entirely predictable that he will get the same shit in return. That is how it works and has worked for centuries. I'm not sure you can say that I am afraid to confront the flaws in my own ideology when you do not know what my ideology is. I am not certain myself. It shifts with the cast of characters and the circumstances. I have no use for pre packaged "conservative" of "liberal" ideologies. They are generally stupid propagandist talking points. As far as trump goes, I do not see a Republican, Democrat, conservative or liberal. I see simply a really hateful self centered asshole/con artist/liar. Has nothing at all to do with ideology, Russia or the election results. I was born in NYC and grew up with jerks like him and, I am sorry, I do not care for his ilk.

If I did not see him as opposing worse things, I would be bashing him too.
I would like to see the Democrats put together a platform that was not based on identity politics is all.

We republicans lost the vote on Obamacare by republican votes. We have lost on the so-called Muslim ban in the courts. The White House Chief of Staff is out even though he was formerly the party chairman and now.....wait for it.....Scaramuche (Sp) is out after 48 hours of swearing, threatening, unprofessional and low-class behavior. Not one thing of our party's presidential agenda has happened. Yup. Things are going just swimmingly.

But banning Muslims and deportation of Mexicans seems to appeal to Republican voters.

I can't speak for all his supporters, but for me those two things are about numbers and legality, not identity.
