Where there's no smoke there's no fire and no reason to recuse yourself and accidentally admit to a little perjury.

Still lolling at the end when he says, "In retrospect I should have said... *dawning realization of what he is admitting* uh... I gotta go now!"

Like Sessions is supposed to be the brain trust for the Trump admin and this slack jawed racist elf who think it's a good idea to hold a press conference and accidentally admit he lied under oath is the best they got.

Trump's got to be bricking it tonight. His attorney general is a proven liar, and I heard yesterday there is a way his tax records can be compelled, revealing all those Russian ruples

Most people use that sarcastically now, it is refreshing to find that some people cling to old delusions.

it's his prerogative to spin the facts to his heart's content.

As Attorney General. At confirmation hearings. Under oath.

And you ask why people think this shit isn't trustworthy?

As long as it's part of the opposition's relentless leak campaign, many are unlikely to trust any 'scandal' manufactured by the media and the intelligence community.

What's funny is that in order for the leaks to be a problem Trump & Co. have to admit the leaks are true.

Seems to me like the facts that are leaking are more important than the fact they're being leaked, and that focusing on the latter is a weak deflection by a weak administration.

Not necessarily, there have been multiple leaks so they can discuss the problem of leaks in a general sense.

You know how batshit predictable Trump is? Obama knew he had to protect the data before Trump came in with a shredder and deleted evidence of his treason.

In the Obama administration’s last days, some White House officials scrambled to spread information about Russian efforts to undermine the presidential election — and about possible contacts between associates of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Russians — across the government. Former American officials say they had two aims: to ensure that such meddling isn’t duplicated in future American or European elections, and to leave a clear trail of intelligence for government investigators.

American allies, including the British and the Dutch, had provided information describing meetings in European cities between Russian officials — and others close to Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin — and associates of President-elect Trump, according to three former American officials who requested anonymity in discussing classified intelligence.

Separately, American intelligence agencies had intercepted communications of Russian officials, some of them within the Kremlin, discussing contacts with Trump associates.

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn lost his job as Trump’s national security advisor a fortnight ago for lying to Vice President Mike Pence about the nature of his own phone calls to Kislyak in December, right around the time that the Obama administration expelled 35 Russian spies and shuttered two Russian intelligence-gathering facilities in retaliation for the Kremlin’s interference in America’s political system. Flynn had denied his discussion of sanctions with the ambassador to both Pence and the FBI .

Geez! Of course he had to step down whether he did anything wrong or not. The accusations in themselves make it impossible for him to continue without throwing the entire investigation under suspicion. It was a cheap trick.

Alleged involvement is just as good as actual involvement for anyone in the attorney general position. This is a post of strong LEGAL standing. Perjury or not, Sessions is now damaged goods. Maybe he still can have a career in Politics, just not as AG.
