America is becoming increasingly divided between "poor" rural areas and "rich" metropolitan areas. Unequal distribution of wealth is powering this divide and as wealth continues to be held in fewer and fewer hands the divide will increase …….. much to Donald's advantage as he is super adept at stoking the hatred of the disenfranchised. And, yes, hell will be eventually paid by the entire 100% not just 40% or 60%.

I agree with you except for ‘blaming’ Trump. Not bothering to argue your figures, the 60% had strong representation in continuing to ignore and abuse the 40%. Trump gave the 40% a voice. Why should this be considered a bad thing? Should they have just accepted being victims and their wishes being totally ignored by Democrats?

I agree but, what do you see as the end game? Is this it. Two "sides" endlessly hating each other? "OK I've been miserable and now it's your turn!" Can it ever be possible to have leadership that represents the best interests of all citizens? Personally, I think not. This is our new dynamic.

Things didn't seem so bad in the 1940's , 50's and 60's but, here is my take: There were 2 billion people on the planet when I was born. There are now 7.6 billion. The place is getting a bit over crowded. Borders are over flowing. This coupled with the ever increasing wealth gap between the rich and poor has given us the mess we all share today. There needs to be a system of sharing the wealth that is more equitable. I'm not talking about Communism. I am a capitalist. What I am talking about is a smoothing to the rough edges of predatory capitalism and a legal/tax setup where the deck is not so stacked in favor of the haves to the detriment of the have nots.

This will not happen, however. Donald is hardly the problem. He is simply a repulsive money worshiper who was smart enough to fan the flames of strife and hatred to his advantage. This is where the con comes in. He doesn't give 2 shits for the suffering of his "base". Just follow the money. Money flowing to the rich and corporations has vastly increased under his rule. The middle class used to be America's strength. It has been decimated over the past 2 or 3 decades. If Donald had not shown up, the situation would have come to a head in another fashion.

I think you know my answer. The US will eventually break up. Ironically it is those calling for centralization that are the catalyst. Empires die and are replaced with a period of nationalism. We have been continually increasing the number of countries at the same time Globalism was pretending to be dominant. The fallacy was right there for everyone to see. People want left alone while wanting the security of ‘big brother’. Just a never ending cycle of an internal conflict acted out on a world level of politics.
Another reason you see today as more divided is because we are. Cultural diversity. Cultural homogeneity produces more peaceful society. The US use to be dominated by one culture. Different races, but only one accepted culture. Our confusing race with culture is destroying us. The different cultures will now demand their own countries sooner or later unless we decentralize which Trump provides some hope for.

I see truth in your comments but I am more of a money guy. Cultural differences are important (I think the South should have been permitted to leave not so much about slavery because that would have ended on it's own accord but for reasons of culture.) but, IMO, money trumps culture any day. As long as we have significant and growing wealth disparity in America, there will never be peace. Millions are working at shit/slave jobs for $10@hr with no or lousy medical care while 0.1% are concerned about adding another billion to their portfolio and getting another tax break/raid on the treasury. Not exactly a formula for making America great again ….. but, I guess, this depends on your definition of "great".

That would be a major difference between us. I am a minimalist and don’t like having possessions I don’t need on a daily basis. I think Americans are simply use to too much and don’t realize how little they need. I don’t care if the rich have a lot as long as I have the little I need. Rabbit ears are $10 instead of cable at what $60 to $100 per month? I have no idea. Been years since I had cable. I share my internet and have the cheapest phone and package I could find. It’s fine. I could and have done without all 3 as I suspect you have. No big deal really once you accept it. I am sure I could even adapt to living off the land. There are geese everywhere.:)

Woodward: No Evidence Of Trump Russia Collusion

Bob Woodward, in an interview regarding his latest book, Fear, admits to not finding any evidence of Trump/Russia collusion. Here is his perspective.

I think he was set up by his enemies; Republicans and Trump. He sure has a lot. Or it might have actually been a real mistake that he will pay dearly for now. Regardless the allegations are not form his wife but from another woman. Will see how this develops.

I just plain don't care. What he has or hasn't done is completely irrelevant (Aside from him being a horrible person, which I hope he gets judged properly for). And I guarantee that we're going to see people start saying that their case against Trump is now nullified for some reason.

Actually, it probably should have been posted on the Brett Kavanaugh thread because Avenatti was the lawyer that represented that woman who brought false claims against him in order to try to prevent him from getting confirmed by the Senate to the Supreme Court.

Now Avenatti claims he is being falsely accused by a woman, how ironic. Avenatti also represented that porn star that claims she had sex with Trump. Now Avenatti may have to get another lawyer to defend himself against a woman's claim.

Avenatti will probably represent himself. I can’t see him sharing the press even for his own welfare.

Maybe, Avenatti seems to have big financial problems.

Avenatti's longtime law firm, Eagan Avenatti, skipped $213,254 in rent payments due over four months, leading the landlord, the Irvine Co., to sue for eviction. The Judge has ordered the law firm be out by Monday.

Avenatti was arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic violence, according to police. He was released after posting $50,000 bond and has denied the allegations.

After Eagan Avenatti sought federal bankruptcy protection from its creditors last year, Avenatti identified himself in court proceedings as the sole owner of Avenatti & Associates, which in turn owned 75 percent of Eagan Avenatti.

He later told a judge that Avenatti & Associates had bought out the firm's minority partner Michael Eagan of San Francisco and become 100 percent owner of Eagan Avenatti.

After the firm was hit with a $10-million judgment in a dispute with a lawyer who used to work there, Avenatti said that Avenatti & Associates no longer held any ownership stake in Eagan Avenatti, but declined to name the new owner.

Wikileaks served our nation well by revealing the corruption of the Democrats in the Hillary Clinton campaign.
All that they revealed was not denied by the Democrats and was proved to be true. That is a great service to the
American people even if the Russians got the the information by hacking and gave it to Wikileaks for release.
However, Wikileaks founder denies getting the information from the Russians and that may be true too.
