They way government shutdowns go is that both sides need to convince voters that the other side are being macho and unreasonable by refusing to accept a sensible compromise. Or have I missed something?
Trump by taunting the democrats with "Schumer and Dems caved" is basically saying that the shutdown was caused by his side being macho and the Democrats were weak because they agreed to a compromise.

I'm not interested here in who actually is most guilty for the shutdown.

I just would like to know why Trump thinks its in his interest to tweet such a claim?
