The debate over whether or not the successful Scandinavian countries are actually practicing socialism is interesting to me.

I think that conservatives should stop focusing on defining Scandinavians out of Socialism and focus on defining liberalism out of Socialism.

It is very easy for people to wiggle around and cling still to the idea that there is something fundamentally still socialist about their system, but it is hard to say that it is actually reflective of the exact vision that the American left has for the country; it is better to say that the things which have made Scandinavian systems successful is not actually as liberal as they believe it is, and to even point out that the threats to the maintenance of the Scandinavian system are all from the fact that it goes too liberal and too left.

Whatever success it has, it has because of the prosperity provided by capitalism and from discipline & conservative factors in the applications of the policies.

Actually the expense of running two homes is huge. I wonder why Fox did not point out that there are currently about 70 republican house members living in their offices and showering in the gym. When Dick Army was majority leader he lived in his office. I honor her for being forthright about this. It is a good thing that there are still a few middle class representatives.

I am trying to understand. Democrats love their self proclaimed Socialist candidates, but they deny being Socialist or having ever been influenced by Socialist countries while promoting Socialist policies. Maybe they should decide who they are?
