Take it from someone who works in mass data storage (but moving into cloud networking). Yes, a lot of what is stored is people uploading pictures of their cat, etc. Some of it is high minded, like data collected from a particle accelerator, or doing research on genetics. Some of it is people pirating movies over bit torrent. However, one hell of a lot of what is streamed over the internet is pornography.

If you want to have your mind blown from a technology perspective, you have to realize that sites like Pornhub store data at the exabyte scale--that is, over 1M Terabytes. It's a staggering amount of pornography that gets streamed everyday. Yes, YouTube is still the biggest. Yet, the porno folks are not that far behind. When the economy tanked in 2008, I ended up working for lawyers because I didn't want to have porno shops on my resume.

With the porno shops being in the top 50 of websites, that basically means that the population has seen all the porno it wants to see. On balance, this is good for the president. The Democrats are not focused on the policy matters that likely voters care about. Trying to drive Trump's poll numbers down among people who don't vote will get them nowhere--although, if donors want to make consultants richer, they should continue. They just shouldn't mistake this for anything more than entertainment. If people are getting what they want from a political figure, rarely do they focus on personality traits--unless personality traits are their main focus. Obama was for all practical purposes the first gay president that was somewhat hostile to Christians, friendly toward Islam, and generally feckless about US security. Yet, his supporters did not care a bit, because they wanted to see single payer healthcare and lots of welfare. Obama's detractors wasted oodles of time on non-issues like whether or not he was born in Keyna. George Bush was an orangutan too. Detractors of presidencies find it very amusing to morph a picture of the president into a monkey. This is not new.
