Tainari88 wrote:I wonder why you insist it is the Democrats only who cause all the issues?
Those enumerated issues? They do cause them. I focus on it, because they purport to be holier than thou. Some Republicans do too. For example, you may have heard me criticize Mitch McConnell's speech saying that they do not tolerate lawlessness, when in fact they do. Illegal immigration is a fine example. The riots in 2020 fell short of invoking insurrection laws even when people were firing mortar into US court houses at federal employees.
Tainari88 wrote:The Republicans are sellouts of the worst sort. Yet you focus in like a laser on the Democrats.
The Republicans have always been a commercial-oriented party, but has had some fiscal and social conservative elements. The Democrats used to be the party of the working class, but they haven't been since Bill Clinton's administration.
Tainari88 wrote:That is what happens when you make capitalist principles like profit only, global wage exploitation and neglecting the needs of the working and middle classes and believing in lies about trickle down economics that never deliver job stability or real opportunities.
Capitalism isn't simply about making profits. It's about the efficient allocation of resources. It might do you good to actually read up on micro and macro economics. Economic profit is just a way of noting that more resources need to be allocated to production. The main fallacies are monopolies either on markets or labor.
Tainari88 wrote:Stop making excuses for those Republican supporters. Trump was a conman who's biggest legislative accomplishment was giving huge tax cuts to the billionaire class who did not need it and not even having a plan on how to distribute the COVID vaccine to the masses.
US corporate tax rates were far higher than the rest of the industrialized world. Trump merely normalized those rates. Billionaires might have seen a small cut in their taxes, but not much. Many of whom you'd call rich actually pay a bit more when they live in blue states, because the tax cuts limited SALT deductions. Biden is actually planning on restoring SALT deductions, which is a tax cut for the rich. You won't hear me complaining about it, because it's a tax cut to me. However, I'm at least honest about what they will be doing. It's just that when the Democrats cut taxes for the rich, you never seem to call it out.
Tainari88 wrote:This pandemic just threw into relief how critical it is to have socialized medicine for all.
The entire pandemic was started by a socialist country--socialism with Chinese characteristics. Trump stopped the spread coming in from China, but not from Europe. It spread big time in Italy, where they also have a government-run health system. Pretty much most of Europe has government-run health care and the latest spike in cases started there. So the bizarro fixation on Donald Trump is baseless.
Tainari88 wrote:The COVID mutations are not going to be detained or contained. They will continue to kill as many people as possible.
That's pretty normal with open borders.
Tainari88 wrote:Now you have a fortress in DC. More security and restriction.
Generally, when you are governing without the consent of the governed, that's a natural byproduct.
Tainari88 wrote:You got that Zuckerberg dude from Facebook and others who have the power of silencing even wanne be in power forever conmen like Trump.
Yeah, and he's pretty much your standard neoliberal.
Tainari88 wrote:Do we really want to eliminate all forms of government and only have private corporations dictating policies for the public for the rest of human history?
Have you ever heard me agitate for anarcho-capitalism?
Tainari88 wrote:Because in the USA they let the damn pro profit banks, corporations and so on usurp nationalistic interests and dismantle any confidence in the government to run anything.
Well, I for one think Jack Dorsey fucked up big time. What they were trying to do was prevent a massive Trump rally during the inauguration, because they were totally humiliated on the 6th of January. However, Pelosi's full scale meltdown encouraged the big tech titans to fall in line behind the Democrats, probably because they will have total control of the federal government next week. However, Dorsey's actions didn't go over well with leaders around the world.
Tainari88 wrote:If you don't understand why capitalism seeks other markets outside of the USA and how privately held stocks that don't represent the vast majority of working and middle class people in many nations might lead to a gap in equity and how those privileged people become blind self centered assholes without a clue on how to deal with social and economic crisis?
I understand it perfectly well. I just think we need to get rid of the phony two party system and have parties that represent the interests of people at large.
Tainari88 wrote:Because the Right are small minded, fear filled, class conscious foolish people who can't even understand why capitalism insists on the multi-racial and liberal pro capitalism paradigm for the world.
Well, in the United States, it's the welfare statists that are filled with fear and filling the Capitol with troops, because they are trying to run a government without the consent of the governed.
Tainari88 wrote:The USA's hold in the world will be tenous or non existent. And you will be part of the reason your empire declined.
The US navy will remain the predominant navy in the world. However, consumption-led growth will fade in much of the world, because of demography.
Tainari88 wrote:Another point Relampaguito, that is important--Democratic traditions and even attempts at true democracy is a very fragile thing. Easily destroyed
Easily destroyed if you stuff ballot boxes. Trying to sell the idea that Biden won 81M votes is a bridge too far.
Tainari88 wrote:If you believe in class systems (which you do BJ), you will never preserve democracy.
The founders of the American republic were wealthy men, and slave owners to boot. The idea that propertied people are entirely opposed to democratic rule is frankly wrong.
Tainari88 wrote:You scapegoat immigrants like if they are vermin or something.
I oppose illegal immigration for the purposes of driving down the wages of Americans. I do not scapegoat immigrants per se.
Tainari88 wrote:It disgusts me. Your racism is BAD. I do mean bad.
What you think I represent disgusts you, but it doesn't even occur to you that I have hired immigrants, dated immigrants, and count immigrants among my friends. The strawmen that you construct in your mind is what you hate, but it's pointless projecting that on to me. I have never advocated for a race-based caste system, for example. Yet, you routinely insist that I do. I routinely point out that my thoughts are much more consistent with Charles Murray's, and you are perfectly free to read his work and come to your own conclusion. If you just read his critics, you will only know what lies have been told so that you don't consider his assertions on the merits.
Tainari88 wrote:You won't be part of the advancement of human progress and it won't be helping anyone out in these bad circumstances affecting people worldwide.
Much of what advances societies involves science and technology, not emotions. For example, clean running water and sewage systems and refrigeration have saved countless lives--far more than any socialized medical system.

When have you heard me praising John McCain, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, et. al.? What makes you people think I defend Jeff Flake, Lincoln Chafee, or even the old dead guys like Arlen Specter? I routinely criticize them. I don't know how many times I have to say that I'm not a Republican. Yes, I used to be a Republican, but I am not a registered Republican nor have I donated a dime to them since 2006.
Steve_American wrote:No sick people travel to Blue states from Red states and spread the disease.
It has a lot to do with population density.
Steve_American wrote:How can the Gov. of a Blue state with a very limited budget reduce the death toll when sick people travel into his state and spread the disease.
They have the biggest state budgets in the United States, especially New York and California. However, at the outset of the pandemic, it was controlled on the West coast. It was the East Coast where the outbreak developed from people who came in from Europe to New York; then from New York to the rest of the country. It's not really disputed how it spread.
Steve_American wrote:Also, you are assuming it was fake news when it was reported that in July the memo said that "we want as many people to get sick and recover before the election so that the nation would reach herd immunity by then and covid would be gone." Not really a real quote, but the gist of it. And, all the Trump Gov's actions support the idea that this was its policy. So, maybe Trump told people to travel to Blue states and spread covid around.
From April forward there were mass demonstrations on a regular basis with little social distancing or wearing of masks. Politicians cheered that on. Most of them who cheered it on were Democrats. The Republicans, as usual, sat on their fat asses and did nothing.
Steve_American wrote:Because of how cynical I've become about how evil Trump is, I can easily believe this if *any* evidence to support it comes out. And we KNOW that Trump had rallies in the Blue states that spread covid among his supporters, who *would* then spread it to some others they stood near over the next week or 2.
Yes, Trump held rallies. He didn't do that to spread covid. That's just dumb.
