4 dead, 2 wounded in Southern California stabbings

LOS ANGELES (AP) A man who was "full of anger" went on a two-hour stabbing and robbery rampage in Southern California, killing four people and wounding two others, authorities said Wednesday.

The 33-year-old Garden Grove man was taken into custody after he came out of a 7-Eleven in Santa Ana, southeast of Los Angeles, and dropped a knife along with a handgun that he had taken from a guard, police said.

The violence appeared to be random and the only known motives seem to be "robbery, hate, homicide," Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney said at a news conference.

"We know this guy was full of anger and he harmed a lot of people tonight," he said.

The suspect and all the victims were Hispanic, he added.

The attacks on more than a half-dozen places took place over about two hours in Garden Grove and neighboring Santa Ana.

The two people who were injured were listed in stable condition late Wednesday night and were expected to survive, Whitney said.

Detectives were interviewing the man and also expected to be at the various crime scenes through the night in order to collect evidence for a court case, Whitney said. Surveillance cameras caught some of the carnage.

"We have video showing him attacking these people and conducting these murders," he said.

So they have the suspect, have the video of him but have decided not to share his any of this information with the public. Very different response than when a white man allegedly goes on a murder spree.

He has been named: Zachary Castaneda.

So that's about midday on the day after the murders, when they've booked him. Seems par for the course, to me. Since they arrested him at a different location, it seems reasonable to take a few hours to get all the identification watertight before going public. It's not like they needed the information out there quickly.

The Dayton spree shooter was hooked up with antifa, he killed a bunch of black people and they're not calling him a racist. So I guess you can kill minority people at random but if you don't do it because they're minorities then you're not a racist murderer, you're just a regular murderer which to the liberal mindset isn't even as bad as a regular racist. Liberals vote for mass murderers for president and they'll even tell you you're a piece of shit if you vote for a racist over a mass murderer.

That's how fucking stupid shit is with these people.

Unlike the recent white supremacist terrorist attacks, this one does not seem to be motivated by bigotry and prejudice.

@Sivad

In US elections, you can vote for the overtly racist mass murderers or the covertly racist mass murderers.

But both parties support systemic racism and mass murder.

It seems like we were informed of the El Paso's name and photo of him at the Walmart holding a weapon within like two hours.

This article was posted over 9 hours ago and they had video at that time. There is apparently a photo of the arrest so there was some media there. Oddly, they chose a photo of him with his face obscured as though they were intentionally trying to protect the killer's identity.

You would think that it would be the duty of the media to get as much information out to the public about a serial killer.

I have a question about racism

Is it racist to say that Mexicans aren't good socialism material, not because they're brown but because they're people? Does that statement make me worse than a mass murderer? If it was me and a mass murderer running for president would you vote for the mass murderer over me because of that statement?

Not racist.

Just lacking in knowledge about how much more successful socialism has been in Latin America in comparison to North America.

See my previous post.

As PoD said, @maz , it's truly impressive that when all victims of a crime were Hispanic, you're stoked about making the real victim a white mass murderer who you reckon was named a bit earlier.

You would think that it would be the duty of the media to get as much information out to the public about a serial killer.

No; you would think that. Others would think that, with someone in custody, the important thing is to get facts right, which can mean waiting an hour or two - getting forensic tests done, getting a lawyer before a formal interview, that kind of thing. He was taken into custody on Wed evening; they named him after the next morning.

they chose a photo of him with his face obscured

He'd been arrested on the basis that his car had been driven by the killer. Good enough to arrest him, not for the media to give a clear identification of the man before it's been confirmed that, say, his car hadn't been stolen (he was found, after all, with a gun he stole during the spree. He was thinking of what he could steal to use).

But go ahead, complain that the white killer got named a few hours earlier than the Hispanic one. It's a great look for you. Like defending the Charlottesville murderer for months with insane videos was.
