It’s not a secret that since 2016, relations between Manila and Washington have deteriorated significantly, in particular due to the fact that the President of the Philippines, R. Duterte, began to lose confidence in the U.S’s ability to help the country defend its interests in the South China Sea, and realized that Washington is trying to drag the Philippines into a war with China.

But if the US cannot stop China’s pursuit of regional dominance, then why should the Philippines take a tough position on Beijing?

So the «separation» of the country from the United States and the reorientation to China and Russia began, and it cannot be beneficial for America. And it is obvious that Washington will do anything to deter its largest competitor in the world market and in the region.

As it is known, the US is actively using the «Islamic State», which allows them to achieve their goals, and now this is being done absolutely openly. It should be recalled that Washington banned aviation fuel supply for Russian forces in Syria, where they have been fighting terrorist groups for several years now.

Also, the activity of the «Islamic State» has now been detected in the Philippines. These groups in the region can at any time go over to terrorist actions, having got appropriate orders from their centers, in particular from the American special services.

According to experts, Washington, «having set IS» at the Philippines and undermining their defense ability and spreading fear in the eyes of the people, plans to force Manila to ask America for help. But if the American military contingent is introduced into the country, this will mean that Washington will be able to carry out initiatives that would be advantageous for only itself in the region.

For example, first of all, Washington has plans for a military presence in the area of the Paracel Islands and the Spratly Islands, that have serious military-strategic importance. After all, who has access to these points, «own» the South China Sea. Therefore, America, possessing all the necessary resources, will «lure» states that are interested in island territories to deploy their own military bases on them.

Also, the economic instability that arose because of the Trade War with the PRC has already shaken Asia and could lead to a global recession, which poses a great risk to the entire world economy. It is obvious that the United States is striving for full economic leadership and the defeat of the Chinese economy, introducing ever new taxes on the PRC and increasing the trade balance. This may help Washington to reduce the interest of a number of countries in Chinese investments and draw their attention to itself.

Moreover, according to Steve Bannon and Jacob Rothschild, the world today is on the verge of the third world war. After all, the contradictions in the world economy have become more serious than those that were on the eve of the Second World War.

Thus, we see how Washington, by all possible means, is seeking its own leadership and realization of personal benefits in a number of activity fields in the Asian region through the active use of terrorist organizations and economic sanctions.

This sounds like conspiracy, and not a very plausible one at that.

The hate-love relationship with the US has gone on for many decades in the Philippines. Manila closed US bases after the Marcos dictatorship, but personal and commercial ties to the US will always make the US an important player in Manila. The same goes for China. A substantial part of the oligarchy is ethnically Chinese. These people have great cultural affinity and close business ties with the PRC.

In today's world, the economy trumps (no pun intended) the military (it really always did). That means that the Philippines will end up in China's orbit.

The US has no qualms about using Islamist terrorists to pursue its geopolitical aims; however, there is not a shred of evidence that the US support terrorists in the Philippines. That is highly unlikely.

As it is known, the US is actively using the «Islamic State», which allows them to achieve their goals, and now this is being done absolutely openly. It should be recalled that Washington banned aviation fuel supply for Russian forces in Syria, where they have been fighting terrorist groups for several years now.

Sovfracht facilitated the transfer of supplies of jet fuel to Russian forces operating in Syria in support of the Assad government, which used chlorine as a chemical weapon in May. The Syrian government itself has been accused of engaging in state sponsored terrorism. The U.S. Department of Justice indicted five employees of Russia’s Sovfracht shipping company for allegedly supplying jet fuel to Syria in violation of U.S. sanctions imposed on Syria. Sovfracht individuals engaged in U.S. dollar transactions, which passed through the United States’ financial system. The Department of Treasury blacklisted Sovfracht in September 2016 and prohibited the company from transacting in U.S. dollars without first receiving a license from the Treasury Department.

Washington – Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designated one entity, three individuals, and five vessels participating in a sanctions evasion scheme to facilitate the delivery of jet fuel to Russian forces operating in Syria. Specifically, OFAC designated Maritime Assistance LLC, which is a front company supporting the U.S-designated company OJSC Sovfracht (“Sovfracht”), originally designated for operating in Ukraine. Sovfracht is behind a sanctions evasion conspiracy, orchestrated by the three individuals designated today, to make payments and facilitate the transfer of supplies of jet fuel to Russian forces operating in Syria in support of the Assad government. In addition, today OFAC identified five vessels as blocked property of Transpetrochart Co. Ltd., a Russian company designated by OFAC in December 2016 for providing material support to Sovfracht.

“Treasury is targeting a sanctions evasion scheme that includes front companies, vessels and conspirators who have been facilitating the illicit transfer of jet fuel to the Russian military in Syria. Assad’s despotic regime is under an international spotlight for using chemical weapons and committing atrocities against innocent Syrian civilians, and they rely on these types of illicit networks to stay in power,” said Sigal Mandelker, Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence. “The U.S. is determined to cut off access to the international financial system from those who conspire to violate our sanctions, including those who enable the brutal war machine in Syria.”
