Caught in a lie, the Trump administration didn’t correct itself; instead, it changed the website.

New language published on the Strategic National Stockpile website Friday reframes the strategic stockpile as only “supplementary” in nature, and shifts blame for any shortfall to the states."

Of course it does. Dear Leader and his family are blameless and perfect in all things.

It may be worse than you realise.

Unlike previous emergencies, FEMA is not handing the gear over to the States. It's giving them to people to sell to the states.

IOW, instead of arresting price gougers (as would have been done before) Trump is enabling price gougers.

So the Feds buy a mask at maybe 60 cents, and somehow that mask winds up in the hands of someone unscrupulous who sells it to the States for roughly ten times that amount. The Federal government will eventually cover at least part of that cost in aid to the States.

So why are we robbing ourselves?

I don't know, but it needs to be investigated.
