Indeed, at least circa 1900 it would be accurate I suppose.

But it's interesting, even the racial southern laws (e.g. the one drop rule) didn't quite define who's white. They would instead provide definitions of who isn't white.

And it's not just an issue within the right, the left also doesn't have a clear definition I think.
