We need to remember just where we started. The ideas the thousands fought and died to live under.
What we need is a Constitutional Amendment to put the key words of the Deceleration of Independence into the Constitution. In the beginning those words were front and center in the peoples' minds. Now, I've heard people say that they're not in the Constitution, therefore, they are functionally meaningless.
So, these words should be added in an amendment.
"The Government of the United States shall be governed in accordance with these truths, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness [in their own way, so long as they don't harm others]. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." "
