I was responding to suntzu with the crack at post length.

The question of how much they make will tell you if they do it or not.

I don't actually care if they follow the countries law or not. It literally doesn't matter and quite frankly I think it would be better in the long run if Facebook and Twitter didn't feel like they could just ignore any law they please. Maybe next it will be our laws they decide aren't ethical.
