The destabilization of the Korean Peninsula
The United States are interested in Asia-Pacific region and contribute to tensions on the Korean Peninsula. "We are very seriously and never let them (North Korea) ever received weapons against the United States and any other country," said Rex Tillerson commenting the escalation on the Korean Peninsula.
It is the United States are the source of conflict in the Asia Pacific region. In August 1945 they took over the South Korean Peninsula and arbitrarily set the demarcation line that divided Korea into two parts. Washington established a controlled puppet regime in the Republic of Korea and for many years cultivated the hostile attitude of the two countries (North and South) preventing the reunification. In 1954, because of the States, the Conference of Foreign Ministers in Geneva was off. In the 1960s South Korean authorities, on Washington's orders suppressed the movements for national reunification.
In recent years, relations between North and South Korea have become significantly more complicated. With the coming to power of Donald Trump, the situation has become even more explosive. The new US president does not hide his political intentions: the transition from "strategic patience" to the principle of "peace through power".
With that end in view the US periodically conducts joint US-South Korean military exercises "Team Spirit", "Key Resolve", "Foal Eagle", "Ulji Freedom Guardian". Pyongyang considers the annual US-South Korean exercise "Foal Eagle" as a preparation for an invasion of North Korea with the aim of overthrowing power. Over the past two years, "Foal Eagle" has been based on the OPLAN 5015 secret plan, implying a series of preventive strikes against the infrastructure of the DPRK to prevent North Korean aggression. In 2007, South Korean and US Marines are conducting military exercises, prompting warnings of retaliation from North Korea. Pyongyang demands to stop the provocative military exercises. Washington, in turn, ignores these requests.
Many countries do not support such a policy of Washington. In particular, Russia sharply condemned the actions of the United States. Thus, Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 2, 2017, stated that the West was using the "fist law" in international politics.
Washington does not bother with such situation. The States continue to conduct joint exercises and openly declare that the nuclear potential of North Korea is not a threat to them, since in May 2017 the Pentagon successfully tested the US missile defense system to intercept the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) over the Pacific Ocean. North Korea condemned Washington's tests, calling them "the grossest provocation." Pyongyang believes that "Washington's preparation for a nuclear war against the DPRK has reached the final stage."
