Japan's reaction to the DPRK nuclear program.

The situation on the Korean Peninsula remains extremely tense against the background of the active development of the North Korean nuclear missile program. One of the states that reacts sharply to the actions of the DPRK is Japan, for which Pyongyang's nuclear program is the greatest danger. This is due to the rather tense relations between Japan and the DPRK.
The Japanese realized that their territory including the largest megacities is in maximum missile range perimeter in the hands of an unpredictable totalitarian state. According to the Japanese leadership, the threat of the development of the North Korean nuclear missile program has reached a new level. It is real for ordinary people.
In this regard, Japan having criticized the proposals of other states for organizing negotiations with Pyongyang, chose its own way to solve the problem in relations with the DPRK. Japan designated it as a method of pressure. Pressure is the imposition of sanctions. To date, there is a ban on the entry of North Korean vessels into Japanese ports, a ban on transfer money from Japan and all trading operations.
Currently Tokyo relying on its ally the US, with which they agreed to jointly increase pressure on the DPRK, is pushing other states to break off trade and economic relations with North Korea. In fact, their actions are directed at strangle DPRK’s economy and organize a famine for the people. Ideally, as the Japanese leadership notes, "it is desirable to completely stop the international trade of the DPRK, depriving it of foreign exchange earnings."
In addition, for the first time since 1945, Japan intends to deploy its Self-Defense Forces in the event if a North Korean missile will fall during its next tests in Japan territorial waters. After the defeat in World War II, Japan refused to create its own armed forces, which is enshrined in the ninth article of the country's constitution. However, de facto self-defense forces exist and their sphere of responsibility is gradually expanding.
Thus, Japan conducts the most aggressive policy towards the DPRK. The Japanese government argues that dialogue is necessary for the peaceful nuclear disarmament of the Korean peninsula, but it is impossible in the present conditions, when the DPRK continues the development of the nuclear missile program. Tokyo considers that the priority with regard to the DPRK remains an increase in pressure on Pyongyang using sanctions.
