Japan’s Response to North Korea’s Nuclear Test
Pyongyang continues the nuclear tests in response to Washington's provocative policy. In July 2017, they were already three. The first was the test of intercontinental ballistic missile Hwasong-14 on July 4, restarted on July 26. According to the US defense department, the DPRK conducted another missile test on July 30 at the Sinpo shipyard. It's about testing a "cold start", when a rocket is thrown from the submarine with a compressed steam, and only then starts its engine, so as not to damage the submarine.
The series of Pyongyang's July tests gave Washington the opportunity to sharply tighten measures against the DPRK. The anti-Korean rhetoric of the States was joined by South Korea and Japan. Following Washington, Tokyo demanded that Russia and China step up pressure on the DPRK because of Pyongyang's missile tests. According to Russian analysts, this Japan's appeal to Russia and China is demonstrative.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed to increase pressure on North Korea, and also called on other countries to follow this strategy.
The head of the Japanese military department, Kisida, said that Japan and the United States "strengthened the strength of deterrence and opposition" of their alliance, and also showed the "level of desire and opportunities" for Japan to resolve the situation in the region. Confirmation of this statement was the joint exercises of US and Japanese aviation, which took place on July 30 in the area between the Korean peninsula and the island of Kyushu. Two Japanese fighters F-2 and two American strategic bombers B-1 took part in them.
At the moment, US President Donald Trump is ready for a military solution to the problems of the DPRK's nuclear and missile programs. However, according to military experts, he is unlikely to decide on such drastic measures, since Washington is well aware of the true motives of the nuclear tests of the DPRK.
And the North Korean threat and methods of its prevention are in fact US propaganda.
Pyongyang, in turn, is not interested in the backstage intrigues of Washington and the pressure of Japan, as well as the sanctions imposed on it. The DPRK insists that the tests are a deterrent.
Despite the fact that Moscow and Beijing condemn the nuclear launch of the DPRK and call Pyongyang to declare a moratorium on them, the DPRK's assurances about the tests have a defensive nature inspire more confidence in Russia and China than US-Japanese propaganda.
