In August 1945, the whole world shuddered. Two atomic bombs fell on Japanese cities as an act of intimidation, killed more than 300,000 civilians. On August 6, the bomb fell on Hiroshima, three days later - on Nagasaki. Today 70% of Japanese people do not know these dates.
Nowadays, Japan are threatened by DPRK. Recently, the North Korean nuclear program has made significant progress, and in the case of war, the first target of North Korea's ballistic missiles will be Seoul and then Tokyo. Japan is well aware of this, and therefore it is very interested in cooperation with the United States, in which it sees its defender.
Speaking about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Japanese media try not to mention who made them. After watching the Japanese press, we can see phrases such as “the atomic bombing of Japan”, “atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.” But without specifying who did this.
This is not accidental. Japan deliberately keeps silent about who dropped these bombs so as not to irritate its main military and political ally. Because now America is extremely important for Japan in terms of ensuring its national interests. And the current Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, is pursuing a policy of strengthening military cooperation with the Americans. Japanese ordinary people have a different opinion on this, but the Japanese government is unlikely to change its policy.
By the way, it is worth mentioning the recent threatening actions of North Korea in relation to Japan, and the total inaction of America.
Kim Jong-un ordered to launch a ballistic missile in the direction of Japan. According to news agencies of South Korea, Japan and the world, the North Korea missile flew over Northern Japan. According to military experts, it could hit any of the Japanese cities and carry a nuclear warhead. Experts are surprised that the US, which promised to protect Japan and Seoul, did not shoot down the missile of Kim Jong-un.
Maybe now Japan will think about the fact that America, being overseas from North Korea, does not worry much about the security of its allies. Moreover,US does not worry that Japan, which had once felt the destructive power of nuclear weapons through the fault of the United States, could again take a nuclear strike. And the US will be to blame for this again, but now because they have not decided to defend their ally.
Japan should not forget the sad events of its history and whose fault they occurred, even for the sake of political ambitions, because "those who forget own history are doomed to repeat it."

No sport. The fault was an unprovoked sneak attack on the US possessions in the Pacific. That is why Japan was attacked with nuclear bombs.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here. Do you want Japan to get out from under the US's protective umbrella? I'm all for that. But if it tries to build its own nukes, we will have to reoccupy Japan. There are people alive today who remember that Japan cannot be trusted with nukes.

Hmmm interesting viewpoint Tintin.

Perhaps the reason Japan doesn't talk about what happened in WW2 is because:

1. They attacked first.
2. They subsequently lost.
3. As they live in a society where honour is important, that defeat is a cause of much shame.
4. As is the sheer cruelty dished out to their pow's in places like Burma.

I'd hush it up if I was Abe
