Supporting the tension and trying to pressure Seoul economically, Donald Trump risks destroying the alliance with South Korea and forcing it to look for allies in the face of China and the DPRK. Being an experienced businessman, Trump probably will choose not to develop a conflict on the Korean peninsula. On the other hand, he has already compromised his reputation by aggressive polemics, so any digression will hit his image, both in foreign and domestic politics.
