no you didn't try to inform me you basically said all my links were wrong . They are not.
I posted links that not only suppoeted my claims but proved them to be accurate .
You did not post "links". That's false. You posted one link. It was to the Borgen project, and they didn't cite where they got their information from, so the source is suspect, at best. I found at least 2 sources that completely disputed the fabricated numbers from the Borgen Project, which based it's numbers not on fact, but on one guys estimate, which was widely disputed by people on the ground. No one knows exactly how many there are, but 1 million? No. You'd only have to know the country a little to know that this number is even outrageous.
The trigger wrote:you did denyed my claims and said I was making it up.
when links were posted you denyed they were true .I suggested you post links to support your facts what you posted one or 2 lol. Your math is wrong.
They are false, because the numbers are "made up". How do you get 800,000 out of 200,000? Cmon...
The number was one made up from 1996. Things have changed a LOT since then... mainly the poverty rate, which was around 45% in 1996. It's now around 10%(I provided a source for this, below).
The trigger wrote:Next I made it plain that America has many of the same issues as most nations do.
however thailand is indeed a a third world nation , while America is the number one super power in the world.
you bet it has its problems.
You don't know what a third world nation is, nor do you know what a developing one is, so you should quit while you are ahead. The term "third world", merely applied(during the Cold War) to any country that was not Western(1st world), or Communist(2nd world). It had nothing to do with poverty, which, BTW is lower in Thailand(10.5%) than in the USA(12.3%).
Poverty headcount ratio at national poverty line (% of population) in Thailand was reported at 10.5 % in 2014, according to the World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially recognized sources.https://tradingeconomics.com/thailand/p ... -data.htmlThe trigger wrote:now I have been to your home nation Im a fisherman and hunter.I like Canada its a nice nation.
I even dated a young lady from canada Years ago .
Good for you. Canada's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Too cold.
The trigger wrote:If you have issues with America please feel free to start a thread about it. As you said your free to comment but dont like it much when others do.
If my sole purpose of posting about America is to malign it and post ignorant shit about, I hope you at least defend your country like I have my adopted one.
I have never set out to do anything here, except inform you about what is true, and what is NOT true about Thailand. The outrageous claims that child prostitution is acceptable, flies in the face of facts(they closed down a few bars in a city nearby, because they raided them and found girls under the age of 20(which is the legal age to illegally engage in prostitution... I know- weird). Drinking age is 19.
That there are 800,000 child prostitutes in Thailand is also a ridiculous claim. It's made by people with an agenda to get funding and make money. Even where I live, if a person's found to be doing that sort of thing, they get reported to the police and they soon round him up and ship him back to his home country to serve jail time(if he even makes it that far without getting beat to death). That foreigners(from everywhere) are the ones doing this sort of thing, is a black eye to the people in Thailand who are here for the culture, people, food(you haven't had real Thai food in USA), quality of life, and the tropical paradise that it is.
Yes, Thailand is a democracy. It was a Democracy on hold for a couple years. It was on hold because of a military junta, but the King always makes sure that even these obey the Constitution(1932), and so it was pretty much business as usual for most Thais. They've had a lot of these juntas, and so it really wasn't something scary like world news media made it out to be.
The old King was revered and loved(not worshiped as a god, like some uninformed people will tell you). The new King has yet to prove himself, as he was a bit of a playboy in his younger days. Thais love customs, so you'll see his face everywhere, as well, since a Thai custom is to have pictures of the royal family in their homes.
So there you go. Some facts. If you just want to ask questions or make statements and expect me not refute the bullshit and lies of the biased, then I am afraid I cannot comply with your request.
To be perfectly honest, if you never visited the "naughty bits", you'd only see a Thailand where women dress conservatively, and where they are, in general, quite a moral and conservative people.
