Generally speaking I could like the idea; i see as beneficial a stronger coordination. But the devil is in the detail.

European countries don't want to be part of a bigger country. That is the reason why the eu is just a club for countries and not a country. Being part of a more bigger country would be more rejected in Europe.

It is impractical as of current moment, better to have a broader alliance something like Nato or a League/Confederacy of nations. This is one of the reasons why EU falters today, because it is trying to unite many countries and cultures into one block.

Why would european countries with relatively peaceful external politics, a sensible election systems and a working social state want to join the absurd USA which has none of these ?

Not even Canada would want to join with the USA.
