#632012
627 Parliamentary seats declared from 646 total :-
LABOUR :- 355
CONSERVATIVE :- 197
LIBERAL DEMOCRAT :- 62
OTHER :- 13
Labour current majority in Parliament therefore 83. This is obviously subject to alteration as the remaining 19 seats are declared.
The suprise, bar some traditional Labour strongholds falling to the Tories surely must be that the Liberal Democrats have done far better than was expected - BBC Radio 4 expected until very late this morning that they would actually lose some seats gained in the 2001 win. However it's difficult to deny that the Conservatives owe much of the thirty some seats gained to Liberal Democrat influence, rather than soley their own campaigning.

New term, new focus, new drive, new Labour.
