Did they change their views since then? Not at all. Today on French TV, the German born fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld (age 84) refuses to buy the German political elite indoctrination

“One cannot — even if there are decades between them — kill millions of Jews so you can bring millions of their worst enemies in their place,” he told a French television show.

“I know someone in Germany who took a young Syrian and after four days said, ‘The greatest thing Germany invented was the Holocaust,'” he added.

Karl Lagerfeld is a senile idiot who should not be taken seriously. Also what do you mean by "their views"? Do you think that this video is an example for the entire Muslim community in Germany?

Germany replaces US as country with best international image

As the US’s global image has taken a hit since Donald Trump became president, it has fallen to sixth place, with Germany reclaiming the top slot, in the Anholt-GfK Nation Brands Index.

+

Germany gained ground in Governance, People and Culture. Germany’s overall score increases were boosted by significantly improved perceptions among Egyptians (+5.92 ), as well as among Russians (+2.26 ), Chinese (+2.17 ) and Italians (+2.06 ). Americans stand alone in ranking Germany outside the top-ten overall nation brands, placing it eleventh.

@Ter

Unlikely. The refugee population has no access to German language, communication, work, income, media, society, power. Hence, the majority of the native civil society and their values, remain the same. For the foreseeable decades....

There will be minor incidents, like the one @noir posted, but thats about it.

^ what an elitist assessment.

Germany is still very popular

The Polish journalist Aleksandra Rybinska has reported that a group of refugees left the country abruptly to go to Germany because they can get more (welfare) money

No, thats a centrist assessment.

Has California become more Mexican, because of millions of immigrants from Mexico ? Hardly.
Same in Germany.

There is a core German (Germanic ancestry) society of 60 million out of 80 million.
This majority has education and controls the economy, politics, culture, christian religion, media and values.
Its absurd to assume that a minority of 1 million refugees which is seeking shelter can overthrow or even transform the core population.

Its the other way around. If immigrants, no matter in what Western European country want to succeed in economic terms they have to adapt to the dominating standards of culture.

So you would agree with the statement “Germany doesn’t need minorities. Minorities need Germany”.

Germany as a state guarantees freedom and safety for all sorts of minorities. Even culturally via media it enforces respect for a pluralistic society.

But, if a member from all these minorities wants to become a mainstream part of the economic or political system, the individual has no other choice to conform to to prevalent norms. Its a mechanism that works in all societies and countries.

As long as the "minorities" do not acquire the education or wealth standards that are dominating the core nation they will have no influence.

You want to know how much Germany is concerned about minorities ?

This is the leader of the German Green Party (maybe a future vice chancellor of Germany)

Quote: In the next 4 years, we want to make sure that every bee, every butterfly and every single bird in this country knows that we care for them......
