The original post was made by a government shill peddling the idea that Maduro was supported by the people. This wasn't true then, and it's less so at this point in time. The numerical proof is the election result, which, in spite of serious government electoral abuses, led to a 112 to 55 National Assembly split (Maduro's party, the PSUV, being the loser).

Today Venezuela is suffering a humanitarian crisis of major proportions. Hyperinflation, a very high crime rate, food shortages, a collapsed health system, increasing unemployment and skyrocketing poverty. This is the result of government insistence in applying a hard core left wing set of policies, and extreme corruption.

I don't like to waste my time in this forum debating with government shill, but I will return occasionally to make sure it's not cluttered with garbage like the original post.

Here's your link. Enjoy.

Once again there is no counter to my argument here, you are simply ad hom'ing me today, and offering your opinion on the issues in Venezuela. The latter of which is fine, of course. Furthermore I don't think you can prove any of your assertions without using biased western data sympathetic to your side. Now, its clear Venezuela is having massive social problems, but simply pinning the blame on the last two administrations flies in the face of the rule of the oligarchies, and the elites that put the country in a position where it would elect far left leaders in the first place.

As for your continued ad hom against me, I'm going to submit it to the basement for review as I feel it is a rule 2 violation according to the forum rules that I read before I joined. You should be able to debate the points I put forward without all the paranoid accusations.

But is (s)he though?

He left the bourgeois intact when he took power. In a true socialist revolution that wouldn't happen. As a result this powerful class off people did nothing but work against him, and Maduro. Ignoring that extremely relevant issue is a problem when you discuss modern Venezuela. Imagine a Capitalist revolution where you leave major socialist class elements in power. Do you think any of them would appreciate the privatization of say, all the nation's utilities? Probably not. In fact they'd likely actively work against you at all times, in all ways.

Just a guess.
