What do you think motivates the PRC in their belt and road initiatives? Why invest in Latin America?

I happen to think that the Unaligned Movement needs to happen to avoid being manipulated by the USA government and PRC government tug of war for power and influence in Latin America.

What do you think might need to happen?

I think it's great for Latin America as long as it remains on the economic realm and doesn't get into security.

The US has largely ignored Latin America these last few years so some competition would be nice, but if that competition starts morphing into a security/military based one (like the US and the Soviets in the Cold War) then it will become troublesome.

The PRC wants to get a hold of economic influence first. Once it does? It will want control of ports and natural resources. Once it does that it might be able to start selling arms and weapons to Latin America and Africa and do it in a subversive way. The US gov't might see that as an existential threat and use Latam and Africa as a testing ground for fighting it out with the PRC in another cold war.

That is why I think building an unaligned movement far from both nations in terms of economic dependency and military interventions are going to have to be developed. Work together in a third column. The one where all nations of Latin America, Asia like the Phillipines, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc and others and Africa start trading, borrowing from a pooled group and staying out of the fight from the big countries and cultivating more independent economic and territorial influences is going to be the way out of this vicious circle.

I can imagine a world in which a small nation in Latin America can get oil from Mexico cheap or use lithium from Sonora, Mexico to make electric car power battery stations, solar panels built in Africa and in Latam, and crops for all kinds of food trading freely among 40 or 98 unaligned nations all in one free zone without the US trying to dominate or China asking for interest payments that are abusive.

It is the only way out. Cooperate for mutual benefits. And allow the big nations to fight it among themselves without being able to keep imposing strangleholds like world cops on the rest of us.

Stop the world cop shit and let people rule themselves. Infrastructure for the locals and trade with all friendly nations. Who cares if they are socialist, capitalist, in between, liberals, fascists, just COOPERATE. Do not waste time and money on wars and punishments and sanctions that only favor plutocrats and greedy assholes who only love their own pockets.

The UK did not like China’s suggestion that negotiations over the territorial dispute should begin.

I happen to think that trying to reintegrate Taiwan if Taiwan is unwilling to reintegrate is a mistake by the PRC government.

If you want to win over Taiwan you give assistance and you trade commercially and do educational exchange among many other projects. Avoid imposing authority and control over Taiwan. It is not going to work.

China needs to clean up the pollution in the cities. I see huge health issues with pollution in cities for the Chinese. Too many rural Chinese citizens never get to see often their factory working kindred in the big cities. Allow rural investments and development that favors rural Chinese families. They got a lot to work on in China. Forget about trying to reintegrate land bases that are independent for years now. It is a study in rebellions.
