As far as I'm concern he has done well, as an elected socialist president he has follow a somehow democratic process, sure he uses his position to stay in power and advance his policies but so all presidents and rulers do.

The wealthy people of venezuela certainly hate him, because he has expropiated private property as part of a state run program which gives lands and public welfare to the poor or at least thats what they say.

Now, they wealthy say he sunk the economy, but thats all false because they were the ones who sunk the economy after holding a business strike for 3 months, plus an attempted coup, which blocked oil exports the main economic sector of the venezuelan economy.

Lately they held a referendum like the one in california to remove him, in which thousands of death people voted, a complete fraud, nonetheless he conducted his own referendum to remove people from the opposition.

No ... but it doesn't matter ... I'm not Venezuelan.

I think he is a self-serving egoist who envisions himself as a dictator for life a la inFidel.

... and I don't ... V must have a revolution to return itself to democracy. If they (aka V) want socialism ... fine ... they need to do it without inFidel Chavez.

Maybe you can enlighten all of us with a few FACTS to support this allegation. I know that Grey Davis was kicking and screaming ... I never about the voting from the "quick and the dead".

Its unfair to say that Chavez is trying to be a dictator while he is still serving his elected term in office. If anything is anti-democratic , its the actions of the Venuzuelan bourgeoisie, who tried to kick him out first through a coup then throw a devestating business strike. Even worse, after they brought the Venezuelan economy to a standstill for 3 months, they blamed the economic problems on Chavez. In fact, I think he has been restrained in his treatment of coup leaders. He had every right to give lengthy jail sentences to coup leaders, but many of them remain free.

That's absolutely true, anyone else in this world would have sent the "traitors of the republic or state" to the slamer until they died, because one thing is to disagree, but to acutally try to overthrow the elected government which has its democratic right to be in place is "treason", is not like he had violated the law.

Moreover, not only there was a strike for 3 months but also, all the pigs left the country with huge amounts of money driying out the venezuelan banks, and therefore the economy.

This is very true, and its really stupid that one of the main complaints of the rich was Chavez's limits on spending abroad and on capital transfers. Capital flight has been a cancer of South America, and finally someone tries to fight it, and suddenly he's anti-free market. Prevension of capital flight is where government intervention is absolutly necessary.
