On the evening of May 19, the militants attempted to attack the air base of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Hmeimim. They used a multiple launch rocket system. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on Sunday, around 20.00, terrorists fired 6 rockets from the Idlib de-escalation zone around the Russian air base. According to the Russian military, "all the shells were destroyed by the air defense forces on duty".
They added that Russian intelligence quickly discovered the militants' launcher on the western outskirts of the village of Kafer-Noble. A targeted blow was struck on it, which destroyed the object.
At the same time, air defense calculations detected two alien drone aircraft flying to Hmeimim from the north and north-east directions. They were shot down at a considerable distance from the airfield of the home base of the Russian Aerospace Force.
