The US defense budget - due to profitable foreign arms sales deals - is skyrocketing, and the number of these deals sets new records. But judging by the recent events in Saudi Arabia, the purchase of the THAAD missile defense systems has proven to be very costly and completely worthless.

As its name implies, THAAD should intercept short- or medium-range ballistic missiles, «determine» the actual missile warhead, which would be different from the nearby broken parts of the spent launch vehicle or from false targets, track and predict the warhead`s future flight path without confusing it with none of the accompanying fragments and hit the target directly, like a bullet.

It is important to note that the THAAD has never been tested against a ballistic missile target flying with splinter or decoys, all the more so against half a dozen such missiles fired simultaneously.

Drones and cruise missiles that were used for the attack flew at low altitude, while the THAAD works with targets only at high altitude. The «Patriot» and «Hawk» missile batteries are also not suitable for countering threats at low altitude.

Moreover, even if the attackers fired ballistic missiles at high altitude, this system still would not have worked properly as protection against Hussite attacks since the THAAD infrared sensors are not able to distinguish real warheads from fake ones.

Thus, the Americans get a whopping tens of billions of dollars from sales of missile defense systems, the Saudis cut oil production by half, and its prices jump to $75 per barrel. That is, the benefit in this case is only for the United States.

Thus, as a result of the attack, an «oil crisis» occurred, which caused panic among buyers and a surge of enthusiasm among producers. And the tension in the Middle East is growing inexorably again due to unfounded accusations of attacking by Iran, as well as the unstable situation between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, in which the coalition led by Riyadh attacks the Hussites.

It is important to add that most of the American weapons are used to destroy the civilian population of the region and the conflict has already led to a massive humanitarian crisis in a war-torn country. However, despite all attempts by the US Senate to resist the decisions of President D. Trump to actively sell weapons to the Saudis, it continues to worsen the human rights situation and increase the mortality rate of Yemeni civilians.

Thus, we can observe the absolute inability of the American missile defense systems to ensure the security of the countries that deploy them on their territories, the inappropriateness of transactions for the purchase of such weapons and the rotten essence of the current president of the United States, who still remains only a businessman for whom the lives of civilians are worthless.

Washington only benefits in the short term. In the medium and long term, it is bound to lose. Who wants extremely expensive US weapons systems that can't protect from a simple drone attack? The spike in oil prices is only temporary. As renewable energy becomes cheaper, there will be a lot of surplus supplies of fossil fuels on the market and the US can close it's dirty and expensive fracking industry.

Unfortunately, this crap is bought by Koreans, Arabs and Jews... I am pretty sure that we will hear about their tragedy soon :knife:

Unlike Japan or South Korea, Saudi Arabia is not a trusted ally of the United States. Saudi Arabia has not acquired the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense systems as the Senate has blocked $8 Billion arms sales to Riyadh and its allies, owing to their interference in the Yemen conflict.

Yesterday, North Korea tested ballistic missiles that fell into the Sea of Japan, which happens so regularly. In this region, possessing missile defence systems is a must, whether you like the United States or not. North Korea is as dangerous as Hezbollah or Hamas terrorists but Asian nations are incapable of developing their own anti-ballistic missile defense system to counter the North Korean missile threat.
