Worry grows for Iran sport climber who competed without her hijab

An Iranian competitive sport climber left South Korea on Tuesday after competing at an event in which she climbed without her nation’s mandatory headscarf covering, authorities said. Farsi-language media outside of Iran warned she may have been forced to leave early by Iranian officials and could face arrest back home, which Tehran quickly denied.

She claims the hijab unintentionally fell off, and she continued the competition because she did not want to lose.
The incident was interpreted as an obvious symbol of defiance and show of support for the uprising that is currently taking place against the Iranian government. (The protests started from the killing of a 22-year-old young woman by Iran's morality police, for not wearing her hijab)

"After competing without her hijab, Elnaz Rekabi was whisked back to Iran and is now considered to be kept under house arrest. A forced apology, clearly written by someone else but presented as if it were her own words, was issued via her social media feed."

It looks like police destroyed her family home, demolishing it.

At this time it is not clear whether the home was destroyed on the orders of the central government.
In Iran and other countries in the Middle East, and even India, sometimes authorities demolish people's houses as punishment for political crimes.
