actually... in my old school you would. It got in huge trouble for refusing to say it. So they made me say it infront of my entire class. I said the following:

I pledge dissidence to the government
of the United States of America
and to the Republicans whom I can't stand
one nation, under smog, and dispicable
with liberty to just us not all
