Bush to the guys of the 9/11 Commission: You haven't heard of that? It's John Kerry's fault!

Iraq: a document makes Bush's defense fall apart.

I am actually insulted by that. You meant to compliment me and yet ... you insulted me ...

What I find quite annoying is how you hide your blatent socialism behind an American flag and call it nationalism.

Being insulted by being compared to Europeans is fairly racist and it is not appreciated...

... And yes I've had a bad day

I figured you had a bad day. :hmm:

And why cant one be socialist and yet not nationalist? And why can one not be both while being an American?

And am I really blatently socialist? I have in the past said that private industry has a place in society ... would that be for or against socialism?

And European is hardly a race anymore my good man ... no more a race then American is. :p

Its true that my political cartoons that I have posted have been very critical of the Bush administration and at times capitalism but ... that doesnt make me socialist.

Sorry you had a bad day, I hope your night is better.

Actually yes I do too, I've just gotten over my hang-over in time to go down the pub.

And why cant one be socialist and yet not nationalist?

There is no reason ,except you always class yourself as 'nationalist' which has many right wing connotations.

And am I really blatently socialist? I have in the past said that private industry has a place in society ... would that be for or against socialism?

It depends what branch of socialism you are talking about. Most of the 'mainstream' branches of socialism would whole-heartedly agree with you. It is only when you look out into the realms of revolutionary socialism that you find people who would like to nationalise industry.

And European is hardly a race anymore

Shit? It isn't, what did I miss?

no more a race then American is.

American was never really a race. Just ask Ixabert!

No it doesn't (see above)

FFS! Its Thursday man! Dont you work?

But my nation comes first, before my political or economic beliefs ... wouldnt that be nationalist? Perhaps patriotic is better ... but ... nationalist always seems to get under the skin of leftists ;)

Oh ... ok. Well ... I am not all that revolutionary ... I would rather live happily then die angry.

Shit? It isn't, what did I miss?

Mass immigration :p

I dont think of European as a race just as I dont think of Asian as a race. As for European ... I thought it was broken down into British, German, French, etc ... not 'European' ...

American was never really a race. Just ask Ixabert!

 I will never ask Ix anything about America ever!

Hi ho hi ho its off to work I go ...

Why should Boon artificially label himself as "socialist"? I think it's better when capitalism-critical people who aren't socialists don't call themselves as such. Less confusion. I'd consider Boon as somesort of democrat (not necessarily in the US sense, but in the more general sense). A democrat is someone who advocates more public control over the capitalist mode of production, but who doesn't necessarily advocate its abolishment.

This week off.

But my nation comes first, before my political or economic beliefs ... wouldnt that be nationalist? Perhaps patriotic is better ... but ... nationalist always seems to get under the skin of leftists

Patriotic would probably fit better. For soeone who likes to annoy leftists why do you endorse left-wing candidates in your nation?

Oh ... ok. Well ... I am not all that revolutionary ... I would rather live happily then die angry.

It really depends what you would derive happiness from and your economic standing.

I dont think of European as a race just as I dont think of Asian as a race. As for European ... I thought it was broken down into British, German, French, etc ... not 'European' ...

The European races were all so mixed up in the middle and medieval ages what with invasions and occupations that essentially we all have the same genes anyway. It's just imbeciles who keep up the sham of nationalism in Europe at the moment.

Why should Boon artificially label himself as "socialist"?

Why should he artificially label himself as nationalist?

Fine then, alternatively social-democrat, although I believe the western meaning of the word 'scoailist' can differ from the eastern definition.

A 'democrat' can be anyone who favours the present form of borgeois parliamentarianism (in it's western application anyway).
But a Social-democrat (See Kautsky and present 'left-wing' leaders in Europe) does advocate limited control of capitalist means of production.

I didn't comment on that. If he isn't, he shouldn't. But I'm not sure if he's a nationalist or a mere patriot.

It's not about "Western" and "Eastern" definitions, but bourgeois and scientific definitions. Someone who doesn't advocate the replacement of the capitalist mode of production by the socialist mode of production isn't a socialist. Thus it's entirely possible for one to criticise capitalism and advocate welfare state without being a socialist. It's possible to be a "left-winger" (in the sense of being to the left compared to parties openly embracing the monopoly bourgeoisie) without being a socialist.

Well let's label him a social-democrat (in the modern, non-Marxist meaning of the term).

Yes that is quite true, but in the west these termns are commonly misused. For example the British labour party is described as 'socialist'.

Well let's label him a social-democrat (in the modern, non-Marxist meaning of the term).

 Nah man, I am a four foot tall midget ;)

If he isn't, he shouldn't.

But wouldnt most peopel consider me a nationalist? Unless I am a patriot instead? I dont know ...

For soeone who likes to annoy leftists why do you endorse left-wing candidates in your nation?

Because the right wing candidate is a dolt and I dont agree with the right wing on nearly any issue? From domestic to foreign the right wing stances are opposite or furthest from my own.

It's just imbeciles who keep up the sham of nationalism in Europe at the moment.

So ... Italian = Swedish = Swiss = German = Romanian?

Well let's label him a social-democrat

Can't I just be Boon?

Hmmm maybe it's trying to tell us something.
