Now this is satire:

Is Norway a better place to live than America?

They have higher personal taxes but it's worth in the services they provide.

I consider Finland to be a better managed country, by my own libertarian standards, than the US.

- The GOP has no objection to gays being allowed in the boy scouts. They only hate gay marriage.
- The GOP has no objection to women in combat.
- People who enter this country illegally have broken this country's laws. What sane country rewards people with citizenship for breaking its laws?
- Humans are not the cause of global warming.
- The GOP does not deny that violence is a problem. Unlike Democrats, however, they understand that "gun violence" is not fundamentally different from any other kind of violence, and stricter gun laws only increase violent crime rates.
- The GOP acknowledges that people need health services. Unlike Democrats, they understand that a free market is better at providing this service than any government agency could be.
- The GOP freed the slaves, gave them citizenship, and gave them the right to vote. A hundred years later, they were pushing all of the civil rights legislation. Today, they oppose the affirmative-action policies that have been shown to hurt Asians more than any other ethnic group, and are quite well-liked by the Asian community.

It's time for a certain cartoonist to grow up and accept reality.

There was nothing "free-market" about the housing bubble or our financial system.

The point the cartoonist was making, it seems to me, was not specifically about the housing bubble, but about one of the fundamental contradictions of the capitalist economic system - the fact that surplus products and services can exist while at the same time there are human beings who need those products or services yet cannot use them because of the mechanisms of the free market. If a human need does not or cannot manifest itself on the market as a 'demand', then it remains unmet.

It's more that the market doesn't have normative value, it couldn't give a fig if you die, if you don't produce enough value to justify your own existence then market forces will kill you.

Being a free marketer requires that you admit that not everyone is actually worth the space they take up.

You dont understand how capitalism works, there is nothing inherent in capitalism that prohibits the distribution of goods for utilization, unsold goods are wasted money and resources and producers dont like to lose money. The reason why houses are going empty if because of the US central bank, not the free market, the Fed has conducted a deliberate policy of inflating the housing prices to keep a floor over the housing prices, banks have also refused to sell the houses they have on their books because then they would have to admit that they are bankrupt so they keep them on the books rotting away with no owner. All this has nothing to do with capitalism but with the central bank policies and fractional reserve banks who refuse to face reality and are allowed to do so with government bailouts.

You dont see this problem in the car sector with tons of new cars simply rusting away because the car sector is much less socialized than the banking sector.

Holy fucking cow, this is a satire thread. stop being offended by cartoons, if every ideologue here started objecting to these cartoons, I can see this thread going down the drain.

And TCR's video wins this thread.

I guess that's why the truth doesn't resonate well with voters who aren't worth the space that they take up.
