But who would enforce those "universal laws"? No, the nation-state is indeed in a long process of dissolution, but it is not devolving to some ultra-individualistic anarchism, but is gradually being replaced by trans-national forms of organisation and control, which is ultimately being driven by the globalisation of the late capitalist mode of production.
Nowhere and at no time in human history was "every man his own provider". The earliest prehistoric human societies were organised tribally, with resources being acquired and distributed collectively in a system which Marx called "primitive communism". This gradually gave way to the slave-based economies of the early classical civilisations and empires, then the peasant-based economies of feudalism, then the class-based system of exploitation of capitalism. In each case, even under capitalism, production and distribution were organised collectively.
There was a time , when there was no nation . Then nations increased . However the streangth of the borders is decreasing . As laws become uniform . Will a time come , when every man be a nation unto himself ? Living by universal laws ?
