There is a bullshit idea that is getting legs amongst the Anti-Industry crowd, that Humans are getting weaker and smaller because of Industrialization.
This is again, false.
Never in the history of Humans, have Humans been as large as we are today, have been as strong as we are today, as long lived as we are today, as overall healthy as we are today, nor have pros have known as much as they know today.
No Humans before Homo Sapiens, ever reached 6 feet tall.
The Average height of a Neanderthal was only between about 4 ft 9 and 5 ft 5, and weighed only about 150 pounds.
When Homo Sapiens first appeared in Europe, Homo Sapiens were barely the same size, but much lighter.
The average age at death for Homo Sapiens at that the time was about 40 years old.
Average normal Humans today stand between 5 ft 6, and 6 ft tall, and weigh between 130, up to over 200 pounds.
The biggest can stand over 7 feet tall, and weigh over 400 pounds... which is definitely a physical feat never before matched by humans.
Humans have also never before been as fast as Humans are today, the fastest Human in the world now clocks in at (over) 30 miles per hour.
Here is a comparison of strength.
Neanderthals had to get in close and drive a deer over a cliff to kill it.
A modern human with impressive strength, but no match for a strongman athlete can overpower (and has overpowered) a Steer and brought it to the ground.
Even in Modern recent History.
At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the average man wore only a size 6 shoe, today a size 10 through 12 is the Average shoe size.
The average woman wore shoe sizes that are no longer available today in the Adult's footwear section, a size 3 (women's size), today the average woman wears a size 6 through 9.
This is all from a species that was never defined by its Physical size and abilities.
The idea that the past was better for Humans from a physical point of view, is no more true than it is from a Public Safety point of view, an Achievement point of view, a Technological point of view, or a medical and health point of view, or a Political point of view.
This is again, false.
