I mean, I guess so. I like to think of myself as a realistic, sensible, "voice of reason" type with demsoc goals and principles. The biggest divide with that worldview is that my relatively conservative immigration stance is foreign to most people who are that far to the left of the political spectrum. Though go a few inches right and you get it being not far from that of FDR's Democrats or the Cesar Chavez farm labor movement, a few inches more and Gordon Brown proposed the equivalent of e-verify in Britain.

I'm kind of the same way. I consider myself a social democrat but I am more of a civic nationalist than a lot of people on the left. I think the US should look out for itself and its citizens (all of its citizens...).
