Hello, I am new to this board and would like to introduce myself. I go by the alias "47 Knucklehead" and to those to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles (or are just a collector or history buff), my alias comes for my love of the 1947 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which had an engine that was given the popular nickname of "Knucklehead" because of it's look. Harley had other nicknames for their engines because of their looks, suck as the Flathead, Panhead, Shovelhead, etc.

Politics wise, I consider myself a center-right person (2.88 Economic/-0.62 Social) who is pretty much fed up with all political parties, including the Libertarian Party, of which I am a registered member, and largely consider myself a member of the national "Leave me the hell alone and stay out of my life and wallet" party. I am semi-nationalistic, fiscally conservative, socially liberal in many areas, but ultimately I believe that personal responsibility is a priority and that no one in this world owes you anything just because your parents had sex.

I do a lot of volunteer work with veterans, especially from the WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War era. I have an extensive Facebook and Youtube presence showcasing that work as well as what are known as "Motovlogs", which is where I make video commentaries when I am riding my motorcycle. Also, I am very tech savvy and enjoy making high end, fully custom, water cooled computer systems for myself and others.

Oh, I have my moments to be sure. ;)

Again, I am an odd duck when it comes to politics and policies. Being an old fart who is well traveled and "been there and done that", I have seen a lot and while I'm pretty set in my ways, I have what many people consider conflicting views.

For example, I am very pro 2nd Amendment, pro-choice (but aside from very limited and special cases, abortions should be paid for 100% out of pocket), pro-gay marriage (that is to say, I think that government should be TOTALLY out of ALL aspects of marriage/civil unions all together), pro legalized drug use for anyone over the age of 18, flat tax (and EVERYONE ... single or married, rich or poor, etc, should pay the same tax rate and have only one deduction ... call it "poverty line") or at most 2 tax rate tiers, strong DEFENSIVE military and that any bases not in the US that we are providing protection for another country should PAY US to keep them safe (or they can tax their citizens and make themselves safe) and that when attacked, NOTHING should be off the table and WHEN we fight, we fight to win, including the use of nukes. I believe that fusion energy is the ultimate goal, but fission, solar, wind, geothermal, AND gas and oil are also should be used until we get there. Global warming is real, that is a fact, but the jury is still out on how much of an impact man has caused and that EVERYONE, in EVERY COUNTRY should pony up and help out. The Earth has been warming since the last ice age and will eventually cool until the next one. Some people can't be saved and some aren't worth saving. If you are a "One in a million person", that means there are 7,000 others just like you on the planet. I don't disbelieve that there is a God, I just haven't seen evidence of it and believe that Theists (of what ever religion) and Atheists are just opposite sides of the same coin. Me, I'm what I like to call a "Born again Agnostic".

On PoFo, you'll find that most of your views are pretty mundane (garden variety liberal bourgeois) and aren't particularly contradictory: while we don't have a lot of active libertarians right now, we have Marxists, some fascists who are still active, and so on.

I myself am a staunch libertarian with a heavy emphasis on property rights theory as well as promoting negative rights. @Saeko is someone you can also talk to about libertarianism, being a libertarian herself.

Welcome to PoFo.

Hiya

Welcome to PoFo. It's always nice to see a newbie and hear his or her ideas.

I'm centre left who regards socialism as a good option for solving problems, but can also find merit in some of the rights approaches.

I prefer horses to motorcycles, but my husband strongly disagrees. We rub along quite well. After 10 am. And three cups of coffee each. ;)

You seem like an interesting sort. I am a Stalinist and I too want people too be free of thieving hands in their wallets, landlords need to be ruthlessly crushed into the dust.
