Once a year is about right. I actually get a kick out of seeing them in their non uniform uniforms.

Huh...well good for the Russians.
And those who think Hubbard's scam should be next...good for you too.
My hope is that this is a beginning. An opening of the flood gates.
Any person may worship deified humans all they like.
They should not expect the state to subsidize them or "turn a blind eye" when they become destructive in any way.
Just like any other person or group.

demima wrote:Good decision. They are ALL over London and outside most tube stations. We now have the magazines in different languages depending on the local demographics.

Read the watch tower brother, and walk with me in fellowship.

Anyway, I want to see the same done to Scientology. Well, all religions really...

The closest I ever came to being bothered by one is when he asked me if I needed help while moving furniture. I said "no, thank you," and he walked away.

Putin just loves his power. Are we still pretending that Russia is even vaguely democratic?

skinster wrote:And especially why since the US is hardly democratic. :excited:

Indeed.
Our democratic practices are about as toxic as they can get.
And among western nations, the American democracy is...paint thinner.
Maybe Putin and the Russians want no part in such a charade?
And why is "democracy" a pre-requisite for being acceptable?

It doesn't matter if Russia is democratic or not, banning Jehovah's Witnesses is a lame thing anyways. Kissing the arse of the Orthodox Church is a lame thing too, and that's exactly what Putin did. He shouldn't forget what the Orthodox Church actually is, it's something that makes Russia backward. It's the Orthodox Church the Russian government should ban.

Ter wrote:Russia does not need to tolerate the foreign missionaries and the insidious Soros NGOs carrying out their subversive agendas. Throw all those fuckers out and good riddance.
The Orthodox church is part and parcel of Russian decor, they can stay.

Wow you really have a "thing" for George Soros, don't you...
Ever heard of the Kock...sorry...Koch boys?

Good ideas can easily, and usually, be subverted.
It's a failing of humans. We're extremely greedy.
I'm sure Christianity was a good idea, until it was "weaponized".

POD: I don't really care what sort of political or economic system any country uses. Really..."Democracy" means jack-shit to me. Sure it's a good idea...but let's face it...we've failed as the great representatives of "Democracy".
Besides...just another "funny thing" about 'mericans...most actually think they live in a purely Capitalist society...

Russia...IMO...based on the actions of the last decade...2 more like...are no more or less trustworthy than say...the 'mericans.
I don't really think they are an "enemy" of ours...

It is simply that the right wingers on is board are often so upset about Venezuela not being democratic, I expected them to all come in here and make the same criticisms.

You are right

the difference is (for me) that I hate the Venezuela socialist government while I have no problems with Putin even if I disagree with some of his policies
