That would depend on the context of the power. The culture and whether or not it trains women to feel the privledge to abuse power in various ways. The culture that would teach people to be silent or attack people who come forward, and the systems in place to punish transgressions.

Simply crying that women would do the same if they were in the position of men entirely misses the point of the argument. Nobody is demanding that women be given power over men. We are arguing that we need to change our culture and legal systems so that men do not feel privileged to abuse their power and women can come forward without being attacked and smeared.

In other words. How about we stop protecting rapists and attacking victims?

Let's talk about Hillary Clinton, she's the distraction that keeps on giving.

.

That has been discussed in this thread and its not exclusive to political slant.

However I can see why you wouldn't want to talk about Hillary, she is a complete nightmare and the face of the Democrats , but it is part of this story, the hypocrisy of the Hollywood leftist. Lots of high profile Democrats took money from this slime ball.

mikema63 wrote:That would depend on the context of the power.

It would only depend on whether who has power and who does not. Having power and abusing power are the same basically. Striving for power means willing to be an abuser, and it's not a matter of gender or context.

However, why do men strive for power more than women do? Do they strive for power more than women do or are they just more capable to get it? Do feminists want to empower women or themselves?

Beren wrote:Anyways, I noticed that Weinstein is proud to be an Israeli in soul and mind, and he loves Israel and what the country sands for. What does that actually mean? What does Israel stand for? The same as America does? Do they also love the power dynamics and abuse their power? What's wrong with Israel and America then? Feminists must know!

Well, in the context of making another revenge porn holocaust movie in which Jews kill Germans, we can safely say that he hates Germans. He might even hate white people in general.

Why are so scared to answer my questions will you lose street cred with the mob.

Do you think leftist Hollywood politics are hypocritical ?

You tend to retreat into accusing others of getting emotional.

And yes, you did just try and impugn the integrity of a woman. You implied that Ashley Judd was a hypocrite.

Pants-of-dog wrote:Not to mention all the online trolls who will minimise rape by defining it as just a business deal and buyer’s remorse.

That is a sentence fragment. What are you trying to say?

Pants-of-dog wrote:I see we have enetered the “sully the reputation of the women” phase of any sexuual assualt investigation.

She said herself that she is a "nasty woman".

Pants-of-dog wrote:Yes, it is just an amazing coincidence that you are attacking the female targets of this man and not the men who helped Weinstein. Sure.

They liked it when they were young and hot. Now that they are old and not so hot, they are upset that nobody wants them.

maz wrote:All well past their prime, and are no longer getting the A-list roles that they did when they were involving themselves with Weistein and who knows who else.

Yep. That didn't get passed me. My attention was drawn especially to Emma Thompson, because she was never particularly hot anyway. Yet, she'd come up with these stories of men putting their tongues in her mouth. Seriously? With those snaggle teeth? You'd lose your tongue.

Pants-of-dog wrote:This would be funny if it were not standard behaviour to target the women who were assaulted, as you guys are doing now.

Why is it wrong for a liberal Jew to do anything he wants?

Pants-of-dog wrote:Once again, my point was that it is common in our society for men to try and besmirch the name of the accuser every time there is an allegation of sexual assault.

That's a bigoted remark. How do you know that we didn't change our gender identity before we made the remarks? Just because we have a penis doesn't mean we don't identify as black or a woman when we say something.

The Immortal Goon wrote:Since I last looked in this thread it's gone from the right asking: "Why doesn't the left condemn Harvey?"

To the right asking: "How can you possibly condemn poor Harvey, the victim of these mean actresses?"

Yeah, we caught on to the "let's condemn the man" meme. We saw it for what it was. They are just a bunch of has been hags looking for attention.

mikema63 wrote:Let's talk about Hillary Clinton, she's the distraction that keeps on giving.

She falls down a lot and smells bad.

Beren wrote:The proper question of course is whether what's wrong with men.

That's not the proper question. The proper question is what is "what is wrong with women?" We need to do something about heterophobia and toxic femininity. These women should have been flattered that a man wanted to have sex with them.

I was talking about Ashley Judd that is one woman not all woman why are you being so dramatic?
She is a hypocrite, why didn't she say something sooner, she is outspoken for women's rights might have helped another innocent girl. She is a Nasty Women she even said so in her speech. (btw you can be a victim of sexual harassment and a hypocrite)

Its just so lame and week trying to label someone because you lose an argument and are too stubborn to admit it.

Are Hollywood Leftist hypocritical on this subject?

Harvey Weinstein owns Miramax and he could have gotten away with it for many decades because actresses in the 1980s and 1990s did not report these incidents as they were afraid that they would not be appearing in Miramax films. Ashley Judd kept mum about the incident at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for two decades. She rejected him and she appeared in Miramax movies only years after the incident.

Virtually all of the people I spoke with told me that they were frightened of retaliation. “If Harvey were to discover my identity, I’m worried that he could ruin my life,” one former employee told me. Many said that they had seen Weinstein’s associates confront and intimidate those who crossed him, and feared that they would be similarly targeted. Four actresses, including Mira Sorvino and Rosanna Arquette, told me they suspected that, after they rejected Weinstein’s advances or complained about them to company representatives, Weinstein had them removed from projects or dissuaded people from hiring them. Multiple sources said that Weinstein frequently bragged about planting items in media outlets about those who spoke against him; these sources feared similar retribution.

Since I never talked about all women, I am just going to ignore this.

You have once again retreated into accusing others of being emotional. This is like a poker tell for you. To continue the analogy, I now know you have a poor hand.

To be honest, I am quite emotional about sexual assault. I have female friends. I have a mother and aunts and cousins. I have daughters. But I will not swear or “be dramatic”. The amount of disgust I feel is far more than any expletive could ever communicate.

She is a hypocrite, why didn't she say something sooner,

Because she knew that as soon as she did, people would accuse her of being a hypocrite or worse.

Or they would accuse her of being a woman who slept her way to success as the picture with Ms. Paltrow suggests.

It is a common tactic for men to try and brand a woman as a slut or someone who wanted to/deserved to be sexually assaulted. This thread has examples of such behaviour. And women know this. So when they do get sexually assaulted, they don’t tell people because they don’t want to be raped and then insulted for it, as it is bad enough just being raped.

To support this claim with evidence, your own posts (and maz and Suntzu) stand as my evidence. Normally I would thank you for providing this evidence, but this is one of those debates where I wish I was wrong.

she is outspoken for women's rights might have helped another innocent girl. She is a Nasty Women she even said so in her speech. (btw you can be a victim of sexual harassment and a hypocrite)

Yes, she did call herself that as a way of reclaiming that term from Trump who used it as an insult against H. Clinton. I guess when Judd calls herself that as a way of reclaiming her pride, it is bad. When Trump does it to demean a woman it is good?

Its just so lame and week trying to label someone because you lose an argument and are too stubborn to admit it.

Maybe that’s why Trump did it. I don’t know.

Are Hollywood Leftist hypocritical on this subject?

I think all the men who say we should ban Muslims because they are sexist and yet demean the targets of sexual assault are far worse hypocrites.

A thread about a serial rapist turn into a white-victimhood thread

As for the rest of the so-called men ITT who are apologizing for the rapist and/or blaming the women, you, like Weinstein, are scum. :)

My favorite aspect of this is that Weinstein's contract specifically allowed him to commit sexual assault. From TMZ:

According to the contract, if Weinstein "treated someone improperly in violation of the company's Code of Conduct," he must reimburse TWC for settlements or judgments. Additionally, "You [Weinstein] will pay the company liquidated damages of $250,000 for the first such instance, $500,000 for the second such instance, $750,000 for the third such instance, and $1,000,000 for each additional instance."
The contract says as long as Weinstein pays, it constitutes a "cure" for the misconduct and no further action can be taken. Translation -- Weinstein could be sued over and over and as long as he wrote a check, he keeps his job.
The contract has specific language as to when the Board of Directors can fire Weinstein -- if he's indicted or convicted of a crime, but that doesn't apply here.

Ain't no pizzagate crap...

Weinstein - friend(many pics online) and donor to Hillary Clinton, and even bigger friend of the Obama family. Directly connected

Weiner - Abedin's former hubby. Directly connected.

Clinton - husband.

Epstein - One of Bill's best buddies. Flew together on the Lolita Express many times.

skinster wrote:Actually, we do need to talk about men. Men like these abusers and rapists. Men like all these mass shooters. What's wrong with men?

Men are are far more likely to be mass shooters than women, men are far more, likely to commit murder, rape, sexual assault and child sexual abuse. As far as I am concerned women are perfectly entitled to form women only communities, I support the right of women to institute gender apartheid even though the majority of men are not mass shooters or murderers. In the same way as I support the right of Infidels to live in Muslim free communities although the large majority of Muslims have not individually killed anyone.

But you see its long past time for feminists to put up or shut up. Love us or leave us baby? Feminist separatism is dead. Even most Lesbians are not interested in separatism. The problem is not just that feminists don't follow though and become seperatists but they become apologists and cheer leaders for the most patriarchal and mysogynistic cultures: Islam, Papism, Black rap(e) and even on occasion Jewish Orthodox culture. Communist culture was more patriarchal than western culture.

More generally women constantly select / choose powerful men and very often powerful sexist men. Whether its Conservative women choosing men who are into Christian domestic discipline, Jewish Orthodox men or Mormon men. Or whether its "Liberal" women choosing White rock stars, Black Rap artists, Muslims and rapeugees, its the same deal.
