Somebody should explain to that genius that Fins are already welcome in America. Start with that. You can move on to delineating the differences between refugees and immigrants when you had a good night's sleep'.

Very true. I am afraid that the entire distinction between migrants and refugees is far beyond his understanding. If it was not he would not have chosen a refugee as his avatar.

Refugees are a drain on the US. We should never let them in. I mean what country needs the likes of"

Drlee wrote:No. It was not a sensible question. It was a ridiculous question. We all know why people from the third world want to move here.

The question was not why they want to come here, but why should we want them?

You and other Trump supporters simply do not get why Trump's statement was so ignorant and dangerous for our country. People will die because of it. Businesses will be damaged because of it. Our diplomacy will be thwarted because of it. It was foolish. And from a man who claims to be an intellect. Sadly his followers are not smart enough to understand this.[/quote]
But we do get how unhinged and crazy Trump makes you liberals.

For your information, Einstein was a scientist from Germany, not from some sh*thole in Africa.

America is going to pay for the wall.

The Hollywood types are always threatening to move to Canada if they don't get their ways in elections. They never do. Even when Trump was elected, they just come unhinged and go crazy.

You really know nothing about the movie industry either, do you? 'Hollywood North' has been Vancouver for the last 25 years. A great many movies you see are produced there. My friend made a superb living off of it for over 25 years.

I tihnk Hollywood types are right to call Trump the misogynist racist pig that he is. I'd expect that you wouldn't find this offensive, though... Religious people can overlook rape and child molestation really easily.

Notice Hollywood isn't called Vancouver South? he he he..... Yeah, we do what we always do, pick some poor backwater nation that hasn't been developed much and shoot period pieces there to remind everyone what America was like before it was developed into the juggernaut it is now. Canada serves as a cautionary tale about what could have happened to the US if we were more feminine and not so ambitious.

You're as ignorant as the previous poster, who made the comment about Hollywood people going north. Canada has thrived with billions of dollars coming north, each year, due to the movie industry. Thankyouverymuch for your ca$h! If you can't see that, then you're dumber than I think. :D

Canada is what you get when you aren't a country full of assholes(with a few exceptions, of course).

Nomination for the most ignorant troll of the month award. Like most comments from the right these days, there is not a hint of truth in it.

Einstein was a Swiss citizen when he moved to the US. Perhaps you did not know that. He immigrated to Switzerland at the age of 16 long before he was famous. Of course, like the dreamers that Trump is throwing out of this country, he would have been deported. He was a Jew and like Muslims today was not welcome except in civilized countries. He was a professor in Germany but left for the US when the Nazi's put a price on his head. There was a bill in parliament to grant him UK citizenship but it failed. He finally became a US citizen in 1940. Of course his efforts to aid Jewish scientists coming to America failed.

I can't cope with Canadian winters. I have not gone to that country even though I have gotten numerous invitations all the time. Mainly because I hate the cold. Period. ;)

He also was a socialist. Believed in socialism for his political thoughts. ;) A genius indeed. I wonder why @Hindsite chose a very far left person for his avatar? An international socialist like me as his symbol in this forum? I am thinking he never did much research on Einstein? Hmmm. Food for thought. 8)

Easily solved by coming in the summer :)

I agree Tainari. He was a socialist. He was also a pacifist so I wonder why a retired soldier would choose that too. And he was a Jew though he was at the very best an agnostic. It is ironic that a so-called Christian would choose him too. Though I would say that I see little evidence of Christian belief in Hindsite.

As it says in the link, this essay was published in 1949 in the first issue of Monthly Review, that "Independent Socialist Magazine." The co-founders of the Magazine were Socialist writer Leo Huberman and Marxist economist Paul Sweezy. Sweezy has been called the 'Founder of American Marxism'. Sweezy also so happens to be the guy in my Avatar.

These are the guys Einstein palled around with, from the looks of it.

@Hindsite has said all his acts are like rags before God. That is interesting. How does one get into Heaven in Hindsite's thoughts?

People for me are always fascinating Drlee. No matter how many dialectical contradictions they may have. Oops, got interrupted by a Christian Mexican lady wanting me to explain English instructions. Got to go....lol.

Drlee wrote:Einstein was a Swiss citizen when he moved to the US.

That was because he left Germany to attend a university in Switzerland. He got married to a Swiss citizen. He was also an Austrian citizen. He eventually moved back to Germany before visiting the U.S.A. and becoming a refuge in 1933 rather than return to Germany under Hitler's rule. He renounced his German citizenship to avoid military service under Hitler. He was nothing like the so-called "dreamers" because he was not brought here illegally as a child, but came here legally as a grownup.

Tainari88 wrote:I wonder why @Hindsite chose a very far left person for his avatar?

I chose Einstein because he was intelligent, like me, and I liked that he said, "The more I study science, the more I believe in God." That is the way I am too. I am not aware of the socialist claim. I don't think of him as very far left. He helped the Zionists in Israel with their cause of settling and revitalizing the land. He also helped with the development of the atomic bomb that ended the war with Japan and saved many lives. HalleluYah

I did find something about his socialist views and how he was against condemning homosexuality in the following Wikipedia article:

At the age of 17, Einstein renounced his German citizenship and moved to Switzerland to attend college. The loss of Einstein's citizenship allowed him to avoid service in the military, which suited his pacifist views.

Einstein accepted a position at the University of Berlin in 1914, returning to Germany where he spent his time during the rest of World War I. Einstein also reacquired his German citizenship. In the years after the war, Einstein was very vocal in his support for Germany. In 1918, Einstein was one of the founding members of the German Democratic Party.

Einstein renounced his German citizenship in 1933 due to the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party.

Einstein publicly stated reservations about the proposal to partition the British mandate of Palestine into independent Arab and Jewish countries. In a 1938 speech, "Our Debt to Zionism", he said: "I should much rather see reasonable agreement with the Arabs on the basis of living together in peace than the creation of a Jewish state.

"The more I study science, the more I believe in God."

That image of Einstein the believer has been upended a bit by the newly sold letter, written in 1954 to philosopher Eric Gutkind.

In the letter, he wrote: “The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish.”

And yet you endorse him.

Fake News = Anything right wing idiots don't like. :moron:

In a 1950 letter to M. Berkowitz, Einstein stated that "My position concerning God is that of an agnostic. I am convinced that a vivid consciousness of the primary importance of moral principles for the betterment and ennoblement of life does not need the idea of a law-giver, especially a law-giver who works on the basis of reward and punishment."

Of course, go on believing in unicorns if that makes you happy.
