You are "dunking" Venezuela here.

If a witch drowns, she wasn't really a witch. If Venezuela doesn't fail, does that mean it wasn't really communist?

Can you please explain this BEFORE throwing the witch into the river this time?

We aren't dunking anyone here. We can see the results of their policies from what happened.

And no, Venezuela's problems began before the US slapped sanctions on it.

When the cops used to visit Jeffrey Dahmer and find semi-conscious victims lying about, Jeffrey would explain to them that these were failed humans who took a lot of drugs.

The (white) cops would believe him.

I don't.

The U.S. has psychopathic intentions and whatever Maduro is, is for the people of Venezuela to decide, not Random Americans, and they can decide on the election in December.

No, the socialists will decide by getting people to vote "the right way." It's also not like the Russians or Chinese that Maduro hangs out with are better than the U.S either.

I agree that lecturing totalitarian tyrants and their apologists is a waste of time.

As to avoid an all-out war, there are now new technologies.

Although as I said a lot of times, war is avoidable if a majority of the people is complicit in their government's crimes (or at least agree with the said policies because it gives them hollow pride)

What does this mean? Do you understand how people vote in Venezuela, or is this Random American Ignorance on display?

Russia and China are defending Venezuela from the ongoing imperialist attack from the U.S., so yes, they are definitely better for those of us who don't want to see Venezuela in ruins like Libya still is.

Iran and Venezuela are two important sources of oil for China.

The United States is another important source of oil for China.

So while our generals are on TV telling us how corrupt governments are in those Chinese-oil-supplying countries, major water supplies are being contaminated for "future" generations in domestic-supply-land.

Corrupt corporations frack-and-poison both the water supply and the shared well of human existence.

The National Assembly has an opposition majority and that was elected several years ago by the voters, and this was despite the socialist government trying to set things up in their favor. Once the National Assembly went to the opposition, they did whatever they could to undermine it, using their version of the supreme court or bringing in an unpopular Constituent Assembly. I do have an idea of how people vote there. Not buying propaganda from the other side is not "ignorance."

Being anti-U.S. doesn't make them inherently better. They'd happily pull the same crap.

Who elected the National Assembly?

What powers are accorded it in the Venezuela constitution?

Why was Guaido kicked out by the opposition itself?

Why does Western media think it's the West's job to modify foreign governments like Hitler (and Napoleon) used to do so successfully?

And this makes Maduro a good leader who should stay in power? This is just whababoutism. And where did I say that I want Guaido in charge?

Not at all.

I asked you that series of questions to see what you really know about Venezuela politics.

I just wanted to make sure you weren't just a Babbit regurgitating things you'd heard on mass media.

So far, it seems you are on a "need-to-troll" basis with mainstream narratives.

Guaido isn't really the most popular man in Venezuela and the opposition isn't really unified, plus there was shady things done by pro-government members of the Assembly. The opposition also are actually a mess and the only thing that unifies them is that they oppose the PSUV.

It should be noted that I don't need to know everything little thing about a political system to know when a government is being illiberal. It's also funny you accuse me of trolling simply because you don't like my opinions, and regardless of what you think, I do have many non-mainstream positions. I just don't inverse who's black and who's white and declare myself above the fray.

If this really matters to you: The National Assembly has members elected from party lists, others run as individuals, and some are appointed by indigenous groups. The people vote.

How would you refer to your government's actions against Venezuela's government, which include assassination and regime change attempts as well as mass-starvation and preventing medical treatment killer sanctions?

Do your government count as being "illiberal" too? Should we regime-change the U.S.? :excited:
#15128279
@skinster
I don't buy the assassination claims and I think that coup attempt was a stupid corporation acting alone. It's no secret that the sanctions hurt however, but they're not really responsible for all of the country's woes. That started with the low oil prices and mismanagement on behalf of the socialists.

As for regime change, I do want Maduro to fall, that is true, but I'm not into "regime change" wars or actions. Not here, not in Iran, even if their governments aren't good. I'm ok with sanctions being removed, as it's not like Venezuela is a threat, though that doesn't fall under the term "illiberal" as I was referring to political liberalism, like respecting a certain amount of free speech, not jailing your opposition, respecting the rule of law, etc. Maduro is illiberal in those regards.

I'm for sanctioning Venezuelan officials, though that is different from sanctioning the country as a whole.

Edit: The U.S. being hypocritical doesn't really disprove my position anyway. I'm not arguing that the U.S. has pure intentions. Nobody does in the international community.

Since you support sanctions and are pretending you don't know what they include, I guess this makes you dumber than I thought. Good work. :D

But what you're responding to me was me pointing out how you do support things like regime change wars and wars via sanctions, while pretending to care about human rights. You're not fooling anyone, warmonger; you made this thread with dreams of regime change in Venezuela and...you lost. Sorry about that.
